General Information
The E70 Corolla was the 4th generation Corolla platform. As before, the Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno models were the top spec. They were both bassed on the 2 door coupe shape of the TE71. The Levin, Trueno (and GT sedan) shared the 2T-GEU twincam EFI engine that was much the same as the previous TE55 Levin and TE65 Trueno models. New to this model was 5 link rear suspension with coil springs taken from the Celica. All earlier corollas had leaf springs. The top spec models also had disk brakes on the rear with a LSD center.
