The TE72 range all had a 3T 1800cc single cam motor with a carby. They were mostly sold in North America and Australia and possiably Europe. In North America the liftback was badged "Corolla SR-5" while in Australia they were badged "T-18 SE".

Driveline: 3T motor, T50 gearbox, T series 6.7" open diff. Drum brakes on the rear, solid disks on the front. Wheels, steel 13".
