Hey all!

Got this a few weeks ago. Its a ae71 pano. Got it off a Butcher in the same block of shops I work in and he's been using It as a daily and meat trasporter for the last 20 odd years. So It has had a fridge sitting in the back all that time but suprisingly it has hardly any rust. since then with the help of Svenmate Reseach and development and KKustom Tyre Service I have got a few mods done.

suspension:
- T18 S2 struts & brakes
- exel g short strokes
- AJPS 8kg springs (215mm)
- stock rear end with fresh munroe shocks

running gear:
- tired old 4ac
- nice t40
- open S-series

looks:
- 14x7 +-0 performance fireballs?
- rust removed
- some kinda hektik yellow bucket seat on loan
- no rear bar
- 2009 refrigerated meat transport sticker :D

plans:
- locker
- reset rear leafs
- TRD blues?
- rear sway bar
- 4age
- some bigger LCA's or camber tops
- RE001's for the front

Been looking for tyres this week and found place to get re001's atm is Bridgestone but they have a massive mark up...
so in the end I saw Jay and picked up a pair of GIII's. Aparently the 2nd to last new pair in australia, ever :oh:

when I got the car it was completely stock.

I got the rims off a guy from toymods, they're actually quite common on old school holdens and similar others but hard to find in 4x114.3. I also think ajps were gonna get some in a group buy?

Also been lipping the guards today and found a great way to lift the car.

I have those wheels in a 13x6, badged as "Cheviot Turbo". Performance owns a lot of Cheviots old tooling I think.

Nice work on the van, it looks great!

ok update,

now has:
-flipped leaves as per Mr. AJPS' example
-xt130LCA's -- not giving much camber though:S will be looking to get cambertops soon
-extra lock spacer
-fresh wheel alignment with about 1degree toe out each side and maxed out caster -- had to bash the guards while it was on the machine.

nice, did the van smell wierd when you first got it? I bought a daily R31 of one of my workmates (im a butcher and so is he), and he used to leave his coats on when he drove home, The R31 STANK like lamb fat so bad, and the smell never went away, even after I left beam cans in it on a hot day and they exploded.

squish_m8
1st November 2009, 04:43 PM
the car smelt fine, all the meat went in the fridge that was in the back and the butcher made sure it was all nice and clean before he would let me take it.

In other news, now has:
-cusco strutbrace
-jdm passenger seat
-recaro fixedback copy on a super low bride rail

also now have to put on reconditioned sigma arms, jap adjustable tierod ends, and ae86 power steering arms. Many thanks to Touge Boy :)

time for an exaust system :P

squish_m8

thinking of just welding on another muffler for a quick fix then get a proper exhaust system when the 4age comes :D so hopefully the 4ac dies soon...

4ac's never die, mines gotten better since i bought it
and exausts are prity cheep, you could allways use it as a base for the 4ag system

squish_m8

Only problem i see is that key bangers will probably blow up the next one while the 4ac is still there.

I think i'll look into getting a proper one so i can get parents off my back tho. anywhere u can recomend?

Good luck blowing a hole in that straight pipe! Lol

squish_m8
4th November 2009, 02:53 PM
believe it or not the straight pipe already has holes in it around the welds though:P

3 reasons not to run it :
1. it will be just as loud as it is now
2. the one i got made for a sedan doesn't bolt up to the pano
3. the holes will still need to be welded up

maybe you should use the straight pipe sven :yeah:

long time no update.

after a nice farm weekend it has now sprouted:
-4age from a kouki ae86 w/jdm loom +ecu
-adm-t50
-s-series locker

also put in the sigmas and castor rods, now i have tread poking out of the guards both sides and i cant turn the steering wheel as the castor makes the front of the tyres hit the guards. - need some help from Svenmate R+D!

I should have this wired up in a week or two and then skids yo!

Not much to update on this. Its an hours drive each time i want to work on it. I still have to:
-wire in the alternator
-wire in the circuit opening relay
-clean the injectors
-get another hose to the cold start injector as mine has been split in transit
-fit more efi hose and clamps so i don't have fuel leaking in my engine bay
-top up the fluids
-then DO A SKID!

squish_m8
24th February 2010, 04:53 PM
what did you want off it? its a fairly tired engine so I have been parting out bits and pieces off it.

from memory there is 400+ on the clock but it may have had a rebuild at some point :S

squish_m8
30th April 2010, 04:25 PM
bit of an update,
- everything is now bolted/cable-tied down, full of fluids etc.
- nardi arrived sometime ago and is now on there
- stole the pod filter off my landcruiser
Now all that's left to do is finish the wiring. The loom it came with was far from perfect so essentially I need to take it apart and put it back together properly. At the moment while I've got full time Uni plus work so it is hard to find time and motivation to do this. So for now I'm on the lookout for a pre-made loom that will just plug and play :D if nothing comes up, when I get time, probably holidays I will just make a good one up from what I have got.

anyway here are a couple of pics of the small amount of progress,

parts i have bought to put in the panno -

RCAs,
8kg front coilovers,
power steering arms,
longer LCAs,
extra lock spacer,
jdm passenger seat,
jdm brakes with slotted rotors

all of these were already in it when you owned it :(
also i need to get that T40 off you at some stage!

Once this started sitting on jack stands it started just becoming a parts car for my other corollas. Sometime I wish I never even started playing engine swaps with it. motivation is lost very quickly when you cant drive the thing

and yeah just give me a yell when you want to get the T40 :)
