Hi

Im a little unsure of how to wire in the 20V alternator into the body loom,
as i understand it the 4AC had an external regulator were as the 20v alt has an in built regulator.

how do i go about wiring the 20v alt in?

i cant rely on wire colours either my 20v alt was missing the plug so i replaced it with a new connector and some pins from a couple of unused plugs.

Cheers,
Jon

just get the multi meter out mate, forget about the original voltage regualtor, just pull it out. you only need to find the few powers, and then the alternator light. done!

The voltage regulator plug has 2 of the wires you need to join to. These are:

Ignition - Black Yellow
Lamp - Yellow/Yellow White

Most fwd seem to have the same colour wires as the adm 4ac setup.

The sense wire is usually white and pretty thick. Usually just connect this to the battery/bolt on strap on the alternator. In the end it goes back to the battery anyway.
