This is my new ke70 i picked up for $150 dollars that I'm going to make into my autocross and (once i find a track that takes under 18's?) drift car

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/3/6/3/6/26648.jpg

so far all it has is a different lower control arm (not sure what brand/make of car its from :S) and everything else is stock standard.

Ive bought some stuff already to put into it like:
-Red racing bucket seats
-racing wheel
-new clutch, break and throttle pedals.. if they count..

soon..:
-coil-over shocks and decent springs
-strut bars
-port everything that can be ported =D
-cam (not happy 4k uses push rods...)
-getting rid of 02 sensor and all that ADR mandatory stuff that tax's much needed hp

pretty much ill just push the 4k to its limits until it explodes/implodes/stops working. Then ill go get a twin cam 1.6 somewhere...

Im 16 by the way, if i made any mistakes I'm just repeating my dads unhearable rambling :)

Yeah my dad said "EVERYTHING needs come before motor mods/motor swaps"
Definitly common sence if i do say so myself?

Id LOVEEE a 4Axxx or atleast a 1.6 but Im 16 and jobless :)

Im lucky i could even get the red racing seat hahaha

ill start saving now, i guess. :D

mabey start collecting convertion stuff like 4a crossmember, t50, tailshaft ect ect, then drop a 4ac in it until funds permit a 4age? not that im talking from experience here as a 17yo with a 4k :P na but seriously you wont learn shit from a 4k just to slow. 5ks go all right with desent carbs

also go spend a week in the tech section everything you need to know

malk234
25th October 2009, 10:14 PM
well I'm just gonna port it and ect, just doing some home brew mods to get it a bit faster and learn a little bit, do a race or two with that then ditch it and get something else :D
i think I've managed to find a twin cam 1.6 out of a newer (89 or something) corolla for fair cheap?

its just that if i do a motor swap i get put into the 0.0L-1.6L or 1.7L-2.1L modified category in the autocross.. i mean ill go to modified sooner or later (f**k restrictions! weew!) but im a beginner right now.. the autocross in December will be my first race so I'm not realllyyy looking for much pressure yet :)

i live in Victoria in "the green wedge" greensborough, eltham, diamond creek, ect.
.. yep.. pretty boring here.. :P

Well today i finally managed to get the racing seat in.
when i put it in expecting to have to make a new bracket, the holes were a perfect fit! :D so no drama there.
Then i finished off the stabilizer bushing problem with no dramas as well, despite being short of two washers and two nuts.
Now to try and find me some replacement parts for the back! (totally dinged)

Sweet dude! Surely be seeing you around in the future, I'm in Healesville/Yarra Glen area.

Here's a good article on how to get your 4k going a bit better without going overboard and over budget:

Well i am definitely stuck in a hard position rght now.
I am tossing up between keeping it as my race car and doing it up or making it stock and road legal...
I have the money and everything but im just wondering if its a lost cause or not?
Anyway, i have quite a few things planned for the 4k (subaru webbers, port + more..) if i decide just to race it.
Here are some photo's :D

Hey mate,

I'm from Greensborough and another on here is from Yallambie and it appears we are only driving ke70's or ae71s along with the minority of older folk. Where exactly in the green wedge do you live, as I wouldnt mind meeting a few locals.

Hey mate,

I drive a mint condition white ke70 (flat front) and an extremely clean red ae71, those roads out near research are good but you need to have caution.

Here's a thread with photos about my e7 on rollaclub
