Who's going?

Prologue has been moved from the parklands to Eagle on the hill (Old Mt Barker Rd) from 12 on Wednesday.

40 degrees but should be good, the city prologue was close but boring as shit to watch really.

I'm heading out to Wickhams Hill on sunday morn then follow it for a few more special stages.

There were a few funny moments, we were located near the computer room in Workshop A, as cars would come in, one lad would say "give it a rev", no one would, anyway a GTiR Pulsar came in driven by a couple of chicks, he says "give it a rev", she did and all the lads in the workshop went nuts, it was quite amusing!

I’ll be out. The two cars I’ve had allot to do with at work are seeded right next to each other. The Sims 32 GTR and behind them Weeks in his all conquering Porsche.

Two killed in Adelaide Rally smash
Posted 47 minutes ago

Map: Adelaide 5000
Two people have been killed in a crash during the Classic Adelaide Rally.

A driver and passenger who were involved in the race lost control of their car and hit a tree near Forreston in the Adelaide hills at around 3.30pm (ACDT).

Major crash investigators are on their way to the scene.

It's only a very recent article so I'm sure more details will follow. Absolutely terrible for friends/family and not good for the event either.

I've understated that pretty badly but don't really know what else to say :(

1. i find it hard to care about people i dont know.

2. they were aware of the risks involved yet they chose to race.

3. shit happens.

EDIT.

what i'm actually more concerned about is how this could affect the sport and the event that is Classic Adelaide.

dreny...

Always a tragedy to see a death at a motor racing event but the risks is there and they died doing what they loved.

I will be at Nt Summit (My Home Turf) at the bottom hairpin from 12pm Sat with an eski and deck chairs. Hope to see some of you there.

Two people in the motorsport community died. That's a community many of us are part of. You're aware of the risk every time you step in a car to drive, does that mean if you get hit by a truck nobody should be sad?

Have some respect.

Chaos Theory

how many of you would be sad if i got hit by a truck? do any of you even know me? no

but you would be sad if i got hit by a truck in an epic ae86 with 14x8.5 Works and a 200hp na 4age. you would be sad for the car.

Rim's are replaceable, they can be remanufactured, re-rolled, and a shell is just that, a shell. You and I on the other hand are irreplacable.
It doesn't matter who you are, or who I am, but out there someone actually cares about our measly existance, and as much as you and I don't know it, in the event of our passing we will be missed dearly.
Its nothing to do with the fact these guy's were running around our local roads driving at a level which would make 90% of us envious.
Its the fact they were pushing their limits, the navigator had 110% trust in the driver, and the driver trusted his navigators notes, unfortunately for reasons unknown to us and the rest of the general public, something went wrong.

if you say so, answer me this.

what difference does it make getting sad over people you never knew?
is that going to bring them back to life?
is getting sad going to do anything positive for your own life?

NO..

People die all the time, its not like im sitting here laughing my ass off like "HAHA PEOPLE DIED" in fact I KNOW IT SUCKS, but it's not like there is anything we can do about it, is there?

Yeah, and if more people had that kind of attitude, I wonder how many more people would die during disasters, or in hospitals?

Let's just not give a fuck because there's nothing we can do... great outlook.

Trust a FUCKING "Pervert Streaker" to ruin one of the best stages in the C.A.R.

I caught quite alot of the classic this year and was pretty dissapointed, I've been going for probably the last 7-8 yrs and have been content with the content (?) ive seen,
But this year has been quite a let down, regardless of the unexpected weather, the fact that a massive amount of stages were cancelled for pathetic reasons like "there isnt enough volunteers to close the roads", and the fact that a "Pelvis Squeeker" decided to fuck the shit out of some ARMCO, that said it is extremely valid to cancel a stage due to a horrific rallying accident, and the loss of two regular compeditors makes us all shudder in fear, BUT this makes me think, will this event be on for years to come???

NOTE: Seeing Jack Monkhouse skidding through the Norton Summit intersection at a quicker pace than most of the Competition class compeditors made most of even the snootiest assorted thouroughbred motoring enthusiasts smile,

it was pretty cool we told a cop that we lived on the road because we could be stuffed going around so we got to do a closed road run just before the first few pace cars went through in a astra with 4 people in it lol, as for how many more years it will be on i wouldnt think to many my old man does alot of stuff for it and the amount of sponsers and people wanting to help out was down alot this year plus there making it harder and harder to close down the roads due to the people living them and concils saying no,

You guys should deffinately do the ASP Adelaide Hills tarmac sprint in May before doing classic, great event. 1200 bux for 20 stages over 2 days versus 6800 for 32 in classic (which was reduced to 29 this year anyway). Granted its 10 stages repeated twice but in some ways thats cool...

Great for learning about timing and how the rally is run too.

Do it
