My rivetted together piece of machinery. Thought I'd take some photo's after it's once-every-six-months wash...

Wider wheels + lower = winner

lol is that an intercooler?

Those are just airflow diversion plates I made out of Al to force the air through the radiator instead of having it deflect sideways into the front bar. There's another one at the top of the radiator for the same purpose. I didn't realized how much they looked like intercooler end tanks until I put the front bar back on. Won't say no though... The silver is the original color of the A/C condenser that sits in fron of the radiator.

Wider wheels + lower = winner

While going lower would help the aero/diffuser work better, the tires juuust scrape (due to profile, not width) when the suspension hits full compresison as it is (no passengers through the hills) so going lower wouldn't really work. I'm still trying to design a flat undertray and functional skirts for it.

Wheels are 6J with 205 tires, and I'm thinking of going to 225 tires sometime for more grip. There's no real point for me to get wider wheels since 225 with be the widest tire I can run in my fenders and they'll fit on the 6J wheel alright (wider wheels = more unsprung weight).

just had a better look, thats actually pretty cool. You'll have people thinking its turbo now "ohhhh thats why he's so quick":P

did the plates make much difference in water temps?

Heh every little bit counts I guess... Takes longer for it to get hot through the hills. A water sprayer kinda helps when it does happen too.

 for free mods from household goods.

By popular demand:

From the left (in case you were wondering):
- RSM/volt meter/G-meter (L/R)
- G-meter (F/R)
- ECU readout/trip computer (H20 temp, MAP, TPS, Intake temp, open/closed loop, timing advance, speed, RPM, fuel consumption) does peak hold values too
- Oil temp

Stock airbag wheel trimmed in suede.

Yes, there are over 30 vanilla trees down there; gotta stay fresh.

And the golf-ball shifter glows in the dark too...

I call it Eclectic Style.

These words have now been immortalized through the power of the world wide web and when kids are mismatching trinkets in their cars in 20 years and calling it Eclectic Style, let it be known that I started this revolution against styling coherence and congruity!

Yeah, there's nothing quite like some rotor glowing, silent pre-apexing, airborne environmentally friendly action on the weekend.

One year on, some pics from the weekend after its once-a-year-pre-summer-wash.

Skirts and more diffusers for more sticky. Koni's for more cushy. Oil and trans coolers for less explodey.

Fuck you Mum, your car is getting some stickers!

I like that you make other people feel silly in what is usually such an unassuming car.
