Hi guys,

I stumbled across this site looking at corolla mod ideas and such and i love the starlets although there damn near impossible to find in melb!

anyways heres my car Stock standard ke70 that i picked up off ebay for 700 - spent 700 for RWC (still needs tyres)

Its an auto and a 4k engine so nothing extreme, when i got it home it was off idle spent 100 on doing a full service and the onlything that was wrong was the points a new set of those and its perfect!

Then about 2 months after buying it (still not on the road) i went and brought some 13" x 7" wide Superlights.

Now the guards need to be rolled and the car needs to be lowered all around but the rims suit the car i think.

I also had brought a 5speed gearbox and everything but the pedal box to convert it to manual but im not sure if i'm gonna do that because...

I also used to have a 4ac ADM Sprinter that i was building for track but i canned that idea and sold the shell off with basically nothing but the diff in it. I had gathered a fair bit of parts for it the main things are:

4AGE block bored 40thou over
T50 GearBox
Tailshaft to suit
new oversied Pistons (40thou), Rings to suit, Complete gasket set, new oil pump, 2 heads, a spare block and heaps more bits and pieces

so thats it next thing is to build the 4age and get it ready for the ke70 or buy a KP starlet and drop the 4age in that.

Cheers guys i hope you enjoy that!

I wouldn't bother with Kings Low Springs, save the coin for something better.
Flare Guards - $300? Umm. Serious? Just pole, hammer and dolly it, throw the saved cash at the suspension.

its only the daily and it auto - im not gonna even try and slide this!

king springs on gt shocks will be enough im not going all out - so im putting all my effort into my white manual - this is just going to be lowered, exhaust and sound system i need it to be reliable and non defectable basically no crazy mods - i'll hae a set of meshes and a spirit wing for it and thats it - my missus and i will share it so i need it to be as simple as possible

UPDATE:

well car is now in driveway taking it to Vic Roads tomorrow for a pit inspection and get my rego (finally!) i've found a new problem, rather my mech found it - she keeps over heating and its because of the clutch fan - i called 13 different places today and noone had one they were willing to seperate from a 4k :S
so looks like im going for a 10" aftermarket thermo or hitting up pick-a-part this weekend :P

so keep a look out around the westside for a light blue ketto!

also its still auto and im wondering is there anything besides exhaust and carby manual converion etc.. that i can do to make it abit quicker 0-40 seems to take a lifetime... i doubt that there is but hey i can only ask

UPDATE:

well i didn't end up getting my new fan but i did manage to fit the one from the old 4AC engine i had, i had to slightly dril the holds out abit and remove the lower fan cowl but it works and doesn't over heat! :D i also did a coolent flush, as i was doing it i found out one of the coolent sensors was stuffed and replaced it im not sure if made a different to the car how it drives but hopefully it makes it better maybe the mixtures were wrong hence the sluggish performance

well i'll wait and see...

I also just got stuck into cleaning my rims i have:

1 x set volk meshs 15"
1 x set superlights 13"
1 x pair meshs 14"
1 x pair volk? mesh 15"

all bar the superlights need a clean and the dodgy black centers taken off so thats the plan for this weekend!

UPDATE:

well my car is still overheating, so i went out and brought a new water pump, and ripped the old one off also i think my old man fryed my alternator when he did the coolent flush with me the other day so yeah.

so lucky i ahve a garage full of heaps of car crap haha i know i definately have 2 other radiators (if i can mount them and get the hoses right is a different story) and about 4-5 alternators if this one is indeed fried.

so looks like a busy w/e for me also i might install my stereo if i have time.

2x MTX 4500 10" Subs
2x Pioneer 6" 3way
2x Pioneer 4" 3way
2x Amps

i dont ahve the specs as the gear is in teh other room and i cbf to check it all out but im hoping i can get it set up and sounding decent

UPDATE:

Well i fixed the headlights and the cooling issue but not completly it looks as thouht the oil cooler for the auto is clogged and was making the radiator hotter since the oil wasn't cooling propperly so i fixed this with a 4AGE oil cooler i had laying about and it desn't tip over 1/2 on the temp gauge so next step is getting the oil cooler pipes longer and fitting it in more ventalated space.

the head lights turned out to be the fuseable link that goes from the +ive on the battery so thats fixed now aswell, also here are the specs for my system.

System Specs:

Bluterus
2nd March 2009, 09:52 AM
Hey man I got that heater panel and lower console for you so I'll drop in sometime this week after work or maybe saturday.

As for your amps man Id use the KX120.2 to run the subs wire the two subs in parallel so the + wire from both subs goes to channel 1 + and the - wire from both subs goes to the - on channel 2.
Then you can use your 4 channel amp to run 4 speakers.

hitoriko

ah sweet - yeah if your around the hawthorn area during the week i can meet you after work

and thanks for doing that stuff with teh amps wiring was never my forte

i highly reccomend aw11s, check my build thread for a basic street aw11.

GTi corolla or a vitz (echo) would be a nice reliable fun car and not too costly either.

not sure if i misread/confused with something, but do u have a 7afe block for sale ?? could have been somebody else tho lol.

hitoriko
21st May 2009, 02:12 PM
no i was chasing one but then i found the 4age short motor so yeah no 7age for me

my friend had a aw11 supercharged so much fun :) a echo vvti would be good also but we shall see how funds go
