If it's okay for his car to have rust, it's okay for my car to have rust!

In that vid (and the whole AE86 Club Series) Keiichi's shows progress of modifying and restoring his 10 year old Trueno, to keep up with then current machinery (Civic & Integra Type-R, Altezza, S13 etc). As well as many other tuned AE86's from aroun Japan
This particular vid the Trueno's rust and stressed chassis are attended to. They show thorough rust repair and reinforce the body. Not just the bog up rust holes "she'll be right" attitude, replacing entire panels and welding in sheet metal and reinforcing the chassis.
I think everyone with a Corolla needs to see the entire video series at least once.

This is the extent Ill be going to with my coupe. Full strip down and full chassis build.

On a jig and straightened, full seam and spot weld, strengthening plates, and full welded in cage, modified super-low seat mounts, full hidden wiring, fresh paint throughout etc. Basically a fresh shell.

Im not looking forward to it. :worried:

Apparently he had his license suspended due to these vids being filmed on public roads...

Pluspy Pt1 (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2949010714291545742#docid=-6840507290277023534) & Pluspy Pt2 (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6840507290277023534&hl=en&emb=1#docid=2949010714291545742)

You can see why they already called him the Drift King back in 1987! Forgive the thrashed out quality of the vids. No doubt the VHS tapes have been watched a 1000 times before this was hosted! These were some of the original videos to highlight drifting and touge (峠 means mountain pass) runs in Japan.

(Some clips (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVyxHVhNNgY) from youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHOkR8vrP94) have been posted before, but they are imcomplete or have soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyTtr9OA0DY) taped over them)

Worth noting that the car wasn't in perfect condition and still needed some refinements. (It had done 80000km's at the projects begining)

Interesting to see that most recent engine bay photo compared to older versions, especialy the mods that are no longer there.
SARD guard mounted FPR is gone, replaced with TOM'S unit in stock position (simpler but harder to find)
TRD oil cap is stolen, back to stock item (hard to get from TRD now)
2nd set of injectors and related Earls fuel lines/fittings gone (stock 20v is fine, or use 1JZ-GTE ones)
remote clutch bottle gone, back to stock

However I could be looking at wrong pictures! Google Keiichi and you find every AE86 made.
