Decent wheels will make that look 1000 times better. Need to hook up with Watanabe and bring out a trim level with mad wheels and low from factory. No more defects...

it's too complicated. They should make it a simple, light sports car without the futuristic bull-twang. If they don't, I'll never be able to afford one :'(

ae71
31st March 2010, 03:14 AM
they should just make it hybrid to complete the homoness.

a rather piss poor attempt if you ask me.

but i do think that 90~95% of the people on this forum have not or would not be able to buy a new car anyway and would have to wait another 20year until it became a cheap shitter.

i still think something on the altezza platform could have worked. or hell even a Aus delivered altezza that was more affordable. maybe with a few less luxuarys they could cut the cost and make it a bit lighter. id sacrifice sat-nav, a 6th gear, leather interior, 6stacker cd, HID/LED lights, ESP and all that fancy bull shit for a modifier friendly car that isnt a impreza/legacy except shitter.

HEY EVERYONE ITS A NEW CAR

IMO I like it....compare something else to it thats of the same price bracket and an FR layout.....

Dish and low will make this look good in the same way that it makes your shitbox 1982 Toyota Corolla look good. Have faith people!

Needs to never ever have a spoiler though, maybe a slight little ducktail would look good, like the moulded boot M3 CSL one.

I like it alot, I hated the 350z when it came out but it grew on me and now I love the look (the 370 more so). I think that got me in the mindset to appreciate all these new high waisted 2 doors.

I like it but those rims and that rear wing need to go, over all a pretty good looking car ... Although, id rather a 370z.

Konakid

lose the wing, the gay red stripe around the wheels, bump them up an inch in size and add a small bootlip

Looks damn good, rear lights are a bit complicated though.

Agree the spoiler looks stupid, and well and truly over black bonnets .Even if it is carbon ,just paint it ffs.

Someone needs to photo-shop some decent wheels onto it.

Needs treuno ish pop ups to pay proper homage.

+1 ...totally agree

keep it simple and sleek... decent engine, gbox, suspension/handling setup...good combination of these things can create a legendary vehicle...

and also keep it affordable!!

it's too complicated. They should make it a simple, light sports car without the futuristic bull-twang. If they don't, I'll never be able to afford one :'(

Why is everyone talking about what this car looks like? Who cares? The concept is a light weight, well balance RWD sports coupe. It it supposed to be affordable (even at 40k it is). It needs to be a good overall package for the money like the ae86, and it will be. I wouldve have bought one before they even release the concept photos. It is just the perfect concept for a daily driver. Mod cons, lightweight, respectable power, no doubt agility, balance and of course rear wheel drive. Not to mention how brilliant the subaru gearbox feels and those boxers just love to rev. The will sell millions of these things.

KurtHS
23rd November 2010, 03:04 PM
+ Not as easy to defect either, unless you add a million lows. I mean it can look good and still be hard to defect.

Vance
23rd November 2010, 05:11 PM
it isnt that light and they wont sell millions, only thousands

wozza
30th November 2010, 12:32 PM

I thought the target weight was 1000kgs. That is very light for a modern car.

I was clearly exaggerating, if they sold millions who would want one... it would be like owning a ford focus.

Vance
30th November 2010, 02:40 PM
target weight is 1200-1300kg's

Unfortunately the concept has apparently shied away from the lightweight concept.

Its now gonna weigh more to accommodate more frills, therefore rubbing out more thrills.

Tho the (subjective) plus to it all is it will now definitely be turbocharged.

No word on if Toyota will commit to a lightweight version ala Porsche GT2.
