In a sentence....
what body and lense do you MOSTLY use.
Not looking for a long list of what you own and not looking for a pissing contest on whos got the best camera. Just interested.

Me, 20D and 17-85mm EFS

Canon 40D grip + sigma 10-20mm. Not happy with that at the moment though. Too much distortion when using at 10mm. Hopefully getting a 17-55 soon. 2.8

canon eos400d with a tamron 11-18mm f4.5 or canon 50mm f2.8 I only own them because I brought both on stupid cheap deals. otherwise I'd be using the twin lens kit.

hao.

I use my 18-55mm on my Nikon D60 but am getting a 35mm f/1.8g which will probably be the lense I use most for convenience.

cmos is better i know. etc etc.

i picked up my friends d200 the other day, and just fell in love with the feel of it.
it seems so much more purposeful. reviews all over the net rave about it.

the way i see it, if im more comfortable with my camera (the d200) then i will use it more. and actually enjoy using it.
jsut something about the canon that felt cheap. plasticy. i duno. and if im not happy with it, ill just go back to canon.

at the end of the day, it cant hurt to try something new.

Yeah of course, the d200 has great build and ergos. Be aware that in comparison to your 400d it's a different spec camera though. The camera from canon that compares to the d200 is the 30d, much more of an even match, and the 30d still has imho the better sensor.

yeah i realise all that. has even been compared to the 20d and 5d. have read multiple reviews + heard firsthand from my camera dealer of competition with the 200d. id have to agree though on the 30d having a better sensor but simply cant justify not spreading out and testing the waters a little bit.

i shoot predominantly in film anyway (majoring in photog at uni :D) so the digital wont be relied on that much.

im pretty damn excited about it though really. teaming it up with a Nikon AF-S DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G VR IF-ED Lens if funds allow so should be a fairly solid piece of kit.

feels soooo purposeful in my hands though. love it. takes a nice picture too

edit: typical pedestrian shots. purely for interests sake lol
