IDA is holding a drift day this Saturday at Marulan.

SO yeah wow saturday was fun ... NOT .

not posting to bagg it out ,i understand that Sundee is trying his hardest to get us some track days ..and Marulan has only just opened up again to allow us drifter a venue.. so it will only get better as time progresses... BUT IDA track day was sucky and wasnt worth the 2hr drive,. i wasnt allowed to run my open pipes even tho the motorcross bike that were there (7 of them on the track at the same time ) was imo alot louder then any single car that attended.... the layout used was the back most part of the track (to keep the 90 db lvl )

track day it wasnt .. more of a skid pan day .... US and i speak for all the guys that were there in a N/A car .. struggled . we werent allowed enough room to get speed for entires . imagine this 5 or so meters before the 1st 90degree left hand corner then 5m after that a 90degree right hand corner.... technical yes ... fun factor 4/10 ... and F***K with my slincer on, the poor car didnt see above 5000rpm which it needed to be .

however after saying all this i havent lost faith in Sydney's drift scence and the ppl who support it . it will only get better from here . and im now
on the such for a free flowing muffler that can get me down to a "resonable db lvl"

Thanks for the update little redsprinter. I had a feeling it would not go that well for some reason. Where the other cars with more power having a good time.? And is it better than EK peanut track.

cheers

trav engineer your car and rip street skids lol tracks are going to shit

marulan as a whole track looks fun and is the closest thing to doing it in the hills. because it was design as a driver training centre, so you get a good mix of corners .

OMG866- turbo cars were doing alright i say that loosely , most imo struggled . simple fact that we weren't allowed enough track for decent speed / entries. to answer your question the marulan day i went to compared to EC peanut track day . i would choose EC peanut . simply because the days were better thought out .

1. EC peanut allows multiple cars to drift at the same time .
2. EC peanut gets boring after you do a couple of laps . But during those laps it allows you to find a groove and give you time to think and fix your mistakes

the way marulan had their track day , it felt like a skid pan day .it takes like 10 mins to line up then you get like a total drift time of about 1-2mintue then its all over . really good for ppl who have never been and wants abit of track time and feel for drifting.

NSW Commodore Club do motorkhanas at eastern creek wet skidpan they are a fun day. You don't have to be in a commodore either..

Also Driving sports is doing another drift day at eastern creek on the 23rd April(night sesh) from what i have heard you can go on the skidpan (wet), peanut or the track turns 9-12 probably. There aren't any exact details as of yet like prices etc..

Anyone plan on going?
