nah none. its got a stock engine for now.

have i done something wrong when i set the car up? it seems to have a lot more lock one way than the other... or do i just need a second one :D

maybe get it back on the alignment hoist and set it a bit further left?

My specs are -1.5 deg camber, 2.5 deg caster 2.0 mm total toe, 1.0mm each side...

im running one spacer in the passenger side, when i did the alignment i went from lock to lock as far as itd go each way then found centre and set it up from there.

also for what its worth im running corona XT130 struts (with 4pot hilux caliper/peugot disc) with KE70 spring perches ke70 tops, XT130 control arms, KE30 tie rod tubes and rod ends.

you will need an alignment to get it good just make sure you tell them to centre the rack

Ella

i did it myself... i am a wheel aligner.

i went from lock to lock, counted the turns, found centre and then clamped the wheel and set it up from there.

the only thing i can think might have went wrong is the wheel clamp that i used was old and shit, maybe the wheel moved :S

Pm me if you want one'

Cheers

well ive found out my wheel must have moved, will reset it and then hopefully my tyre will stop binding on my drivers side chasis rail at full lock lol.

what a royal cunt. my steering wheel is a prick to remove.

http://ajps.com.au/instructions/extra_lock_spacers.aspreading is definitely not overrated.

yer it shows one side noob could be both but whats the point in showing a picture of the same thing for both sides. No harm asking questions mate thought this sites ment for that

Matt-AE86

You can only install it on the passenger side. it cannot fully travel on the drivers side, due to the pinion in the rack being on that side and not being able to grab anymore teeth.

Unbolt both tie rod ends
Bolt the screw-in lock Spacer on PASSENGER side of steering rack ONLY
With tie-rods off turn lock-to-lock and count the turns
Then half that amount and turn the wheel from full lock to the half-way point
Your rack will now be centered
Now bolt your tie rod ends back on using loc-tite or similar
Get a wheel alignment

AJPS
3rd December 2011, 12:52 PM
you can, and I can supply

Alexrex7
5th December 2011, 01:49 PM
Do you have to run different lcas to fit this on a AE71 rack? also will this help reduce the amount of turns in the steering wheel to achieve full lock also making steering more responsive? cheers

AJPS
5th December 2011, 04:26 PM
best to run xt130 lca as then you dont need to trim your tie rods to run toe out

it wont reduce the amount of turns

quick rack and shorter knuckles do that

pm me

Apparently the AE86 power steering racks will blow seals if you install rack spacers, there are a few guys over in Ireland that found this out, but at the same time i dunno how much they spaced it out by. Has any one tried theses on a power steering rack with much success?

Also the 6mm spacer for the drivers side, has that got tabs and recesses to use the fold over retainer washer?

AJPS
3rd February 2012, 12:55 PM
no, most people use light loc tite

i can look into it

claw
3rd February 2012, 08:01 PM
cam they probably spaced the drivers side too much and ground the teeth off the column

Alexrex7
28th March 2012, 06:21 PM
Do you guys sell control arms to suit the spacers for a KE70 rack? cheers
