I bought this not too long ago off a mechanic mate, He'd converted it to 5spd using a w55, excedy clutch and lightend flywheel, the engineer who did the flywheel took it from 16. something kgs to 7kgs, certainly helps with the responsive of it. On arrival to my house i decided to mod it a bit, Mate and i coverted the front struts to coilovers and used a st185 shock insert, rear is chopped #### springs and vs commodore wagon shocks, also shoved some new bushes and ball joints in it, I found the lock was fair shit so we also shortend some mx62 control arms down to 335mm and boxed them and wacked an ajps screw in lock spacer with all that Its not too bad now. Not sure what else im going to do with it yet but its certainly a fun and comfortable daily. Tried some 15x8-9 challengers on it and they looked a shit load better than the konigs so they are for sale if anyone wants them

15x8 -9 challengers are a perfect fit for these.
Nice as ice man, these are cool. My plans would be to get some good rear suspension and clean up a 7M-GE to put in it.
And slide it :)

well i managed to rip a hole in the sump friday night what a cunt, all fixed now, Slides resonable in the dry but is probably a bit to soft of a setup for doing anything too serious when the heavens havent opened up, Yeah the 5me isnt much of a donk, but hasnt missed a beat yet, doesnt blow smoke, use oil or water so until it gives up the ghost i'll leave it be, It'll be coping a 2jzge when that does happen. Hope it rains tonight haha

well as silly as this is and not set on the idea but this car may be for sale, around the $3500 mark would want for it, its pretty awesome as is but would want to spend a heap more on it if i kept it, so just in 2 minds what to do at the minute.

not again :hehe:

sold the konigs and have been running around on 16x8.5 ssr's and 15x9 challengers looks pretty tough, pics to follow, But unfortunatley my bottom end bearings said fuck you to 5500rpm for 30mins on the way up to launny last weekend, Am going to slip a a new set through it to keep it on the rd until i can afford to get everything i need to finish the car properly

are you going to sell your manual shizz for the 5m stuff?

yeah sure am, got excedy puck clutch in it (bites real hard with the flywheel being lightend), Lightened flywheel by an engineer down here about 7kgs now makes the world of difference and a w55 with "m" bellhousing chasing $600 for the lot
Clutch and flywheel have only been in for about 3000ks the box i have no idea how many ks that would have on it, but still in good nick

Progress, The engine and box are ready to come out, just waiting on my mate to bring the engine crane around and shes out, Want to do a fair bit of tidying up in the engine bay and all that then i'll start getting it ready for the new donk, Alcohol free weekends are the bomb loving the motivation. 2 new pics on the first page, One of the exhaust (low cars arent always good haha)and just a snap shot before the engine comes out

engine now totally stripped, just got to whip the harmonic balancer off with a rattle gun as its too tight, and off to the machinest, Number 5 rod bearing is missing in action, and has caused some damage to some of the mains, crank is looking ok but will just have to see how it goes. pics page one, poor 5m

joshz18

the 5mge is now stripped totally, I was told it was smoky by the previous owner, the bearings look new the cranks mint, bores have hone marks in them so i'd assume its had a rebuild at somestage, I reckon the rings either have shat the bed or the valve stem seals are fucked, will send it off for machining as soon as possible then slip it back together, Got some bmw 50mm 6 throttle bodies at my disposal but dont really have the coin to make a manifold and run an aftermarket ecu for them, maybe down the track, Drift practice day at baskerville on the 7th of august so im hoping i can update with some skid pics from then

cheers checked out the drift pics and footage of yours, Looks mad, very chuckable. I havent had time to test mine out with the extra grunt as it had a miss on the dyno and now i think i know why, headgasket is cactus, Ordered a mls cometic one and a set of arp headstuds to hopefully fix this problem for good, Theres an event on september 11th down here so will chuck some pics and vids up after that, Cant wait to slide it again, without a thousand clutch kicks 5me styling

ive slid loads of cars, Not meaning to sounds like a cock but i have haha, This is fairly fun, not sure how competitive it would be in a comp event but soon find out, For fun factor well good, just with a basic setup that mine has. as stated the long wheel base is mint for squeky clean transitions but they are still relitively quick at them
