Hey if anyone has a list of paint codes for all the original Sprinter colours that would be awesome, I am looking for the original white, not sure if i should go with the original or a really bright gloss white. Any help is appreciated thanks

The white colour for 1983 cars was 038. From about 1984 onwards, the white used was 041. 041 is a slightly dirty white, probably the most unexciting colour ever. It was also used on Taragos and ordinary cars like that. But on a Sprinter I like it better than the newer brighter whites (040, 061 etc), as it looks more original.

HiLuxs and all commercial vehicles from the 80s- early 90s were painted in 045, a more creamy white, darker than the 041 of a Sprinter. It would be cool to see a AE86 done in 045, just to emphisize the dirty creamy colour. My mates KE25 got redone in 045 which suits it for the year. (Probably not a KE25 colour, but it looks right).

I've added a few more names to the colors as well as years (most are years for US AE86's so may not be true worldwide). Couldn't for the life of me find a listing for what 151 is, its a grey or silver but is obviously a very uncommon color.

Thanks, thats just the info i was looking for. Although i like bright white, I want to keep my car looking as original as possible so i think I'll pick one of the Toyota colours, I'll get those 2 shades of white made up at the paint shop and pick the one I like best.

Which would be the code for Metallic silver on a 1985 ADM?
2W9 silver
2P2 silver
2X1 silver
23D Silver Metallic (164)
2M8 Silver Metallic (147)
164 Silver Metallic
151
147 Silver Metallic (1983-85)
148 Silver Metallic (1987)

Mine is coded 2T6, an 84 model AE86.

Goes against the above r.e later /earlier colour combinations...

Where I had written "early" I didn't specify a date. More likely to relate to 1983 cars. The dates for these things are not always the same as the early/late headlight facelift.

No, usually they are a 2 letter code.

Like the one DAN-86 posted above.

If you're talking about a smash repair/respray place they should... If they don't I'd certainly find somebody else.

yo, the code on my ke70 is AA-UD-GZ. LittleRedSpirit is correct AA is white for ke70, don't know about AE71 tho.

i also found this link

The difference between paint codes is largely to do with AE71's and KE70's being made in Australia.

If you looked at a panel van though they would probably have a Japanese code like the ones listed above as all panel vans were made in Japan.

And as a side, my 89 RN85 Hilux is 033 white.

038 is super (artic) white, its whiter than 040 which is the supra/ and any could be on any corolla from 85~ to 09

040 seems to be the 2nd whitest toyota code that i have found/had painted etc

heres pics of my 86 done in 038

what code 2 codes would make black & white panda for a zenki style 86? im gonna need this soon for when i get mine painted.

s14seriesII
6th February 2010, 12:27 PM
black would be code 202, which is the same as jza80 supra's..

white would be anything from jonny rochesters 041 which is a 85 model white code but its rather cream coloured

or you could use 040 (super white) which is the same as jza80 supra's and all modern corolla's

or the original white on 83 to 84 ae86's is 038 its a very bright super white..

If anyones looking at painting their car blue have a look at Mitsubishi code B79. It's a medium/dark metallic, looks awesome on the parts of my Scorpion that aren't faded and flaking clear lol
