buy an r31 manual and start in that if you're looking for something to start drifting on the cheap, then maybe save up for a jap 86 or a nice clean 86 and build that up slowly and yes stock 86's are poo to slide you'll at least need a decent set of dampers and spriings to match

s13 or corona

s13 get sr20de,
over time fit 16s with good rubber on the front
coil overs
shim diff (2way if you can afford)
then down the track when your a bit more handy capable fit a rb25det

corona
lock diff
coilovers and springs shocks in the rear
get a 2s and just thrash around in the rain and stuff then down the track fit a 3s of sorts.

if you have 10k to play with id get a 32 4 door with rb20det and do coilovers and diff and just keep doing track days eventually just a 25det in.

s13's are the same price for an n/a and turbo now, so i'd just go turbo straight up
