Just wack 80's Toyota IRS in, or s13? Make mounts and win.

Wouldn't be worth the effort though.

just get the diff bent the axel's will survive, although i know of a few people with irs in various cars that are running 0deg camber on the rear for drift i think it has somthing to do with the fact that there spining the wheels that fast that the tyre's side wall doesn’t deform can any one confirm this

Not worth it...want rear camber adjustment, just buy a nissan.

speak to brad prime86. his trueno has the diff housing bent for rear camber, but its a track car from japan so more so leaning to the side of grip than drift...... it can be done.

the actual diff housing is bent, be a pretty specialised sort of thing i guess so ya

AJPS

^ depends how much camber you run

Ill be doing it to my car at some stage, about half a degree

Any of the tarmac rally guys ive spoken to reckon even this much is worth it

Youll know when you need rear camber, it not that expensive

I wish I could say I was drunk at the time.

Was going to go IRS, but just did live axle with this shit instead. Was better than the leafs, but it essentially ruined the rest of the cars life.

btw, V8 super duper cars have live axle and rear camber.

why do you want rear camber anyway?

floody
25th July 2010, 03:06 PM
V8 super cars have multipiece rear housings with full floating axles and internal CVs so they can wedge them for what amounts to a poofteenth of neg camber. I reckon you will find a complete new V8SC rear end costs about as much as a drift ready corolla. Its useful on a 600hp 1300kg car running 300mm wide slicks...

floody

Live axle is a solid axle with power transmitted through it.

I remember seeing some company that had released a floating hub type arrangment that allowed up to 3 deg of adjustment cant remember the link for it though

fucking hell mate, do yourself a favour and get some black felt to cover that shit up. I'm sure you realise this, But if you were caught driving around with that on the street I'm pretty sure you'd end up with some jail time haha

Dylan, Theres hundreds of floating axle assemblies around. You'll cringe at the price of a fully built one. Even a cheapish one like a semi-floater Quaife kit for an Escort is almost $2k just for the hubs.
A full floater hub and axle kit is a lot more again (like say a Group 4 ZF works style full floating axle, probably nearing the $4-5k mark completed). Then if you add an internal CV'd setup with wedged axle tubes...more thousands on top.

anyone have any figures on weight for toyota IRS and s13 IRS VS a live -t-series?

i guess an advantage of s13 IRS is parts (axles, diff, lsd, adjustable arms etc) are all readily available with big after market support.
