This thread is picture heavy so I shall let them do most of the talking.

I bought it as a standard st141 with the intention of making it a mint daily. So I lowered it an inch or so, put some 14x7s on it and then, sadly, it got defected 3 days after for 'too low'.

Defect. Bummer. So I made it low low (because I could) and drove it as shown below for a few days until the defect ran out.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/53930.jpg

I was uncertain of it's future and tried to sell it, but didn't want to get rid of it. It was then that one of my best mates offered to give it a home on his farm, just an hour from where we live.

I couldn't pass it up :)

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/53931.jpg

It resided on the farm for a few weeks until we had holidays and time to play. During which, we decided to do something different with it, something that not many people do, something that would be fun, something that would be cool on many levels. Like.. make it a ute?

So we did.

With the help of Kieran (Squish_m8), My brother - Carl (Tbone) and myself, we began work..

Kieran hard at work :)

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/53933.jpg

We began by removing the interior and boot

It was a beautiful track.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/53961.jpg

It started to overheat so we took it back to the shed and did some cooling mods.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/53962.jpg

'Why a ute' I hear you say... well, being on a farm and doing skids.. it makes sense to me :)

Slapped some tyre barriers and ended the day on a good note :)

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/53967.jpg

So yeah, obviously it's not complete and I will do a heap more work on it next week. I have cressida control arms, ra40 tierods, higher springs, a locker and monroe shocks to chuck in. Oh and a lot more steel tubing! :)

Thanks for reading. Please leave a comment if you wish.

Thanks guys. Yeah, its pretty dodgy - but that's my style. It survived so much trench dropping so I presume my welding has been ok.

I pulled the centre out yesterday and am very confused. It has a pinion wheel but the actual centre looks like a pizza wood oven. Borgwarner ftl

Will open it tomorrow and have a sus.

Did more skids with KKUSTOM and TRDadz. Completely busted the rear shocks so it tramped everywhere very badly :( Need to find some 4wd shocks somewhere.

Woo, holidays! Went down to the farm today and found that the tarp had blown off.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/58892.jpg

So we drained the pooey water out and moved onto the next problem...
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/58893.jpg

I had previously stripped the shock top thread and I didn't consider that maybe my shocks would break sometime. They did, and so I had to cut the top. No sweat. Next.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/58894.jpg

My 'bracing' had started to crack and so I re-enforced it by welding bigass bolts along the arch to distribute the forces more. Oh yeah, this is what happened to my shocks...

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/58895.jpg

So i replaced them with standard ae86 ones and they work minta :)
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/58896.jpg

All ready to rock and roll!
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/7/4/58897.jpg

the paddock was looking uncannily fresh, so we decided to leave it that way and move over to a different pasture.
