hey guys

just wondering on peoples thoughts on a good point and shoot camera for under $500,

they all seem pretty much the same, i guess the question is which cameras have the best "gimicks" that are actually useful?

ones ive been looking at Panasonic DMC-TZ10 lumix with GPS (worth it?) and Canon PowerShot SX210 IS Digital Camera (hd Movies?)

or should i look at cheap DSLR's? like the Sony DSLR A390? and get a cheaper point and shoot?

i like taking photos, im no pro but could never afford an SLR

canon powershot g12.

can get them for a smidge over 500 on ebay new, and they are hands down the best point and shoot i have ever pointed and shot.
excellent quality images, and very user friendly.

that would be my choice in that range anyway.

stay away from cheap dslr's, the point and shoots in the same price range would out perform them in my eyes.

I have had a look around and a test, im thinking i might get the canon powershot S95, as its a bit smaller/compact compared to the G12...
any thoughts??
