any idea of the stock head cc?

Thanks for posting the pics,

it confuses me that they still use such a wide valve angle

it shouldnt sam.....

the engine itself is kinda old from a tech point of view.

The valve angle isnt as wide as the earleir ones, and the inlet direction is MUCH steaper than the earlier ones, but from a packaging point of view, they are already a pretty tall engine, so it probably came down to a numbers game with the bean counters.

They got good results by evolving, rather than incredible results by starting from scratch. Smaller risk both financially and end result sticking with a proven system that u know how to improve.

sorry im rambling now...

no very valid points, if they went for a narrower valve angle it would of been very hard to package the thing under a bonnet. The inlet port angle does look good on these.

I want to find out what a bare one of these weighs

I have several engines here in a few states of completeness
just need decent scales :)

a pity I am not local then, I have a 250kg set which I plan to use for corner scales in the future.

the chamber is 33cc
and the cam pulleys are colser together than a gen 2 3sge by about 25mm
the inlet is stood up more as you have to pull cams out to rip the head off
on gen 2 the cams can stay as you can get to the head bolts ok
