View Full Version : QR sprints 2011

mrbigport

Hey guys,

I'll be hitting up the QR open sprints again this year as run through www.trackattack.com.au
the first one for the year is this saturday the 22nd of January which is probably a bit late notice for some people to come racing, but it would be great to see some more ke/ae love out on track this year.

if anyone needs info or help to get their car on track give me a yell. there's nothing like a bit of on track rivalry to push better lap times out of everyone.

dates for the open sprints are as follows:

22/1
12/3
14/4
2/7
3/9
5/11

And for those that are wondering, you don't have to have rego for open sprints but you do for street sprints this year.
as long as you have neck to wrist to ankle clothing, and an approved helmet - your ready to race!! its self scrutineered so check your brakes, fuel and tyres and come for a thrash.

racing starts at 12:30ish so come and say hi, and if i can get anyone in for a passenger ride at the end I'm more than happy to take people for a run.

See ya there!!

Craig.

i'm very interested once i get the car back from the crash repairs... not sure how long it will take but the march date seems to be the most likely option.

how is your car setup? brakes, tyres alignment etc?

racsov
18th January 2011, 06:34 PM
ive been getting my shit up to scratch so ill be keen for prob the march one

plohl
18th January 2011, 06:55 PM
when i get a new car i'll be keen!

70XIN
19th January 2011, 12:50 AM
i'll be there in march i hope, failing hard

mrbigport
19th January 2011, 09:26 AM
Great to see so much interest guys,

In answer to the question about setup;

I'm currently running a gutted KE70, NA untouched bigport 4age, t50 box, welded diff, xyz coilovers, caster bars, ra40 control arms, 13x7" wheels, ADM ae86 struts and brakes, std drums on the back.

Tyres - Advan A048
springs - 8kg front, 6kg rear
Alignment (with me in the car):-
Camber - 3deg
caster - 3deg
Toe -.7mm per side
Spacers - 5mm per side front, 20mm per side rear

weight distribution:-
52.6% Forward - 47.4% Rearward
49.5% Left - 50.5% right
total weight including fuel and passenger seat - 845kg
weight without fuel and passenger seat - 812kg

at 855kg total weight I have run a best of 62.9 at QR, this year I'm shooting for the 60sec club!!

any other questions just ask

timbo
19th January 2011, 09:46 AM
hmmm your alignment is quite similar to how i had mine setup previously. I've been reading up on castor alot lately, can you explain why you chose your setting?

mrbigport
19th January 2011, 09:57 AM
the current setup is based off a bit of fiddiling over the course of last year, the camber tops are now maxed out (on one side anyway) and the caster is about as much as i can get without the wheel grabbing the guard. on the bright side it works, the car is extremely stable. its a little ploughy into turn 3 but that is locked diff more than alignment

timbo
19th January 2011, 01:08 PM
yeah nice, thats the best way of working out settings! I'll probably go for -3 camber, +0.4mm toe (both much the same) but wind in around +2 caster and see how that feels. should also rebuild the front brakes beforehand too, the kit has been sitting around for 6 months...

Adsie
19th January 2011, 01:09 PM
Didn't realise you improved that much. What tyres where you running for thoses times? Should be out again some time this year will miss this first one but

mrbigport
19th January 2011, 01:28 PM
I got to 65.7 on street tyres then jumped to 62.9 in my first 3 sessions on A048's...and it was a messy lap at that, the car prolly had another .3 to .5 in it, with a bit of practice and getting more accustomed to the semi slicks.
now the car is a bit more left/right balanced and 10-15kg lighter I should be able to find a bit more from it.

I ditched the factory fuel tank and went with a small 15lt cell just in front of the diff on the passenger side to balance things out and keep all the weight low and within the wheelbase.

mrbigport
21st January 2011, 10:17 AM
Out of interest....is anyone thinking bout coming up to watch tomorrow??
just wondering if i should be keeping an eye out for anyone?

mrbigport
24th January 2011, 09:41 AM
Just an update guys.

saturday was awesome, with only 13 entrants there was tons of track time and next to no traffic to contend with, plus passenger runs at the end.
open sprints are running on the clubman track this year, and street sprints are running on the sprint track. since I was in open I had to get used to running the clubman layout which was a good challenge and led to a few big sideways moments but nothing that couldnt be gathered up.
the latest changes to the car seem to be coming along quite well and I can almost take turn one without lifting so the grip level is definitely there.

If anyone has some JDM ae86 calipers shoot me a PM, I have tons of brakes but i'm a little worried that when i go turbo they'll get cooked pretty quick

timbo
24th January 2011, 12:21 PM
so are you only doing open sprints? there is a street sprint on the 12/2 which i would like to make.

wouldn't you be better off going rx7 brakes? they're around the same price as JDM calipers.

mrbigport
24th January 2011, 01:10 PM
I could technically run in the street sprints if i wanted to, and I might hit it up for a few rounds for some fun when i get the turbo setup running just to go and scare a few of the v8 commodore and falcon boys lol
If your gonna be there on the 12th let me know, i might trip up n come for a watch and give ya a hand if you need it

timbo
25th January 2011, 01:12 AM
will do mate, this is all pending on the car being ready and back from the smash repairs.

mrbigport
25th January 2011, 08:33 AM
just remember that you have to have your entry in by 6pm the sunday arvo before the event, otherwise its a $100 late entry fee to enter on the day... (ouch!!)

mrbigport
10th February 2011, 04:04 PM
Timbo,

are you going racing on saturday??

timbo
11th February 2011, 02:28 PM
no go mate... car is still being repaired. will try for beginning of march though.

Funkdoc
15th February 2011, 12:53 AM
Hey people... been a while since i posted... I used to drive a pretty quick rego'd sprinter at QR a few years back.
Just lettin you guys know, i'll be attending all the Street Sprints this season, except for the one at Lakseside in March.
and i'm not driving a AE86... i'll be driving a white S15. Come say hello if u see me..~! Would love to see some AE86's around..~!

Funkdoc
15th February 2011, 01:56 AM
Hey MrBigport, if u enter the event via TA... u won't be able to collect points for the race series right...? If thats the case... why wouldnt u just enter through QR...?? If u're gonna enter most of the events... theres a good chance u'll collect a trophy at the end of the year....

mrbigport
15th February 2011, 08:25 AM
come to the open series...you get more laps and theres less traffic...plus you get to use the clubman circuit instead of the sprint circuit.
don't get me wrong, the sprint circuit is great, but clubman is definitely faster and more challenging

Funkdoc
21st February 2011, 06:03 PM
Yeah, I'll def attend a couple open sprint rounds during the colder months. I've already started collecting points for Street Sprints so Open Sprints will be a bonus rounds for me. I do miss the clubman track, the section from the dipper to the back straight is pretty awesome... but i'm focusing on lakeside atm...

Whats the quickest lap in an AE86/KExx nowdays??

mrbigport
21st February 2011, 06:32 PM
ta run their own series...took second in the ta series last year...this year i'll prolly still do a few of the street series for fun, especially when my new motor is running...I want to beat 1 min around the sprint circuit!!!

racsov
27th February 2011, 07:22 PM
ok i want to do this. not enter a series or anything, just one day at lakeside. 12th of march, can i do this?

mrbigport
28th February 2011, 09:10 AM
12th of march is at QR, 13th is at lakeside
I'm currently praying to the toyota gods to have my head gasket this week so I can get my new engine in the car and running by the 12th...its going to be tight though

mrbigport
28th February 2011, 10:57 AM
16475

This is how my car stands as of yesterday arvo...
I'm waiting on a head gasket from trd japan
the head should be done by thursday
and im hoping to get it all in the car, the computer wired and a base tune running by sunday night so I can race or atleast run in the engine on the 12th
Wish me luck!

timbo
5th March 2011, 03:07 PM
man i want my car back! i have a trd 0.8mm 16v gasket if you want, then ill take yours if it is the same type.

racsov
5th March 2011, 07:07 PM
ok im good to enter on the 13th, how do i do this lol

mrbigport
5th March 2011, 07:45 PM
Go to www.trackattack.com.au to book and pay

racsov
5th March 2011, 08:54 PM
200 bucks, 300 if i enter after sunday. am i reading this right????????????????????

Adsie
6th March 2011, 10:52 AM
Yeah $200 for lakeside, seems to have gone up a bit from last year. How can you pay after sunday? From memory the cut off date is normally the Thursday before.

mrbigport
6th March 2011, 11:11 PM
they do a late entry fee, it minimises the delays on race day as all of the entries and pit locations are sorted before hand.

Thanks for the offer timbo, but I should have mine by thursdays at the latest and since im not racing till april now its not a massive stress.

that being said guys, pencil in april 12th for some interesting times as i try and get the soon to be turbo rolla closer to the 60sec club, and its a street meet too, so there should be a few big dollar road cars out there to embaress lol

lets see how many 4a powered cars we can get on track for the april street meet and make it an unofficial 86dc track day

timbo
7th March 2011, 12:01 AM
sounds good mate. car should be back on the road by then with a few more suspension changes.

racsov
7th March 2011, 06:44 PM
so is anyone driving on sunday?

mrbigport
7th March 2011, 10:36 PM
nup...dont have a working engine yet

racsov
14th March 2011, 08:02 PM
ok this shit is awesome fun

mrbigport
14th March 2011, 08:59 PM
Glad to hear you enjoyed it....kinda addictive hey

what times were you runing??

I dont want to ruin the suprise...but heres a sneak into what i've been up to ;)

16799

racsov
14th March 2011, 10:09 PM
haha i see you have no intention of runnign at lakeside

pb was 1.08.2. first go and on street tyres so lots of room for improvement

mrbigport
14th March 2011, 11:25 PM
I'll make another pipe for lakeside...but I want under 60 seconds around qr sprint circuit....and going full time attack spec seems like fun

plohl
21st March 2011, 10:42 PM
14/14 - gonna aim to be out there trying to go fast haha. Who's it best to go through to book it?

racsov
21st March 2011, 11:39 PM
yeah i might have a crack hey before my steer tyres get fucked form QR. wanna get times down!!

plohl
22nd March 2011, 09:07 AM
Sick! I kinda want to get some times in before i do the suspension and brakes. The suspension is stuffed at the moment. so much bounce.

plohl
25th March 2011, 02:49 PM
Had a look on the track attack site - it says the sprints are on the 2nd @ QR and 3rd @ lakeside. Am i looking in the right spot here?

racsov
25th March 2011, 06:28 PM
yeah but book though QR its cheaper :)

plohl
26th March 2011, 09:02 AM
^ sick. i dont know whether i'll make it next weekend. Have to buy a helmet and have limited cash dollars haha. Where you racing nick? lackside or QR?

racsov
26th March 2011, 02:22 PM
lakeside. open face postie helmet is like 80 bucks from a yamaha shop

mrbigport
28th March 2011, 04:07 PM
just in case you guys are keen, i'm going to hit up the open practice day at qr on the 16th of april.
I need to run this in....

timbo
29th March 2011, 09:19 AM

plohl
29th March 2011, 11:57 AM
^awesome

Brenton 86
11th April 2011, 11:57 AM
Couldn't find a cost listed, you know roughly how much?

mrbigport
11th April 2011, 12:07 PM
I'm not sure on price sorry. and its not looking like I'm going to make it on the 16th.
The car kept blowing the spark out when it tried to come on boost on the dyno on friday so it needs another dyno session before i can hit the track.
I've got new leads and plugs now and it seems ok but i need to get back on the dyno to get the top end of the map tuned.
on the bright side i was making 110whp before it came on boost and blew out the spark so its looking good so far.
think i might have to post up some build pics soon. :D

racsov
12th April 2011, 08:25 PM
whens the next lakeside round?

plohl
15th April 2011, 03:50 PM
i think its the 22nd of may.

http://qldraceways.com.au/main.php?menu=qri02

mrbigport
6th May 2011, 09:28 AM
qr open sprints is on 14/5 I'm gonna be there with bells on...the new engine is ready to rock and roll....
should be interesting 204.6hp atw in an 812kg (dry weight) keto with "active aero" and semi slicks
for those playing at home, "open sprints" run 3 timed and 1 untimed sessions of 6 'hot' laps plus warm up and cool down laps. open sprints run the clubman circuit.

spectators are free so it'd be great to see a few guys out there

plohl
6th May 2011, 09:32 AM
damn! i have a work thing on :(

I think my expectations of having my car track ready in only a few months was very very very optimistic :(

Good luck dude!

mrbigport
6th May 2011, 09:47 AM
theres a difference between track ready and being competitive

track ready = driveable car + balls + fun
competitive = expensive and time consuming lol

plohl
6th May 2011, 02:21 PM
^exactly - im not confident in my brakes at all haha - thus not track ready.

Brake upgrade in order.

mrbigport
6th May 2011, 04:18 PM
I'm was running STD adm 86 brakes when I was na and I'm just going to jdm vented disks for turbo....so trust me they will be fine. I've been running for 12 months on STD brakes with no fade so stress less

Adsie
6th May 2011, 05:03 PM
Will be there on the 14th, just paid.

I use to run with JDM brakes for 18months, there were fine.

plohl
6th May 2011, 05:12 PM
I dont have an 86 - i have a roadster (haha) - NA6 brakes, with standard pos pads. I dont want to spend money on new pads cause i am putting NA8 brakes on. Go from 230 - 255 mm discs. I went for a run/down up the mountain the other day and the brakes didnt last too long under heavy braking.

http://www.miata.net/hakuna/0003/0015.jpg

mrbigport
6th May 2011, 06:25 PM
Awesome...multiple 4a's on track should be great...tell me your gonna try b keep it in a straight line this time right lol
Coz one of us prolly should

Adsie
7th May 2011, 09:50 AM
I doubt it but will try not to spin this time. Never been on the clubman track either so that should be good.

racsov
7th May 2011, 01:25 PM
just have good heat resistant pads and hi temp fluid, doesnt really matter how big the brakes are, just have to learn the braking points for them

plohl
7th May 2011, 02:53 PM
^ yeah, its is heaps different than the celica. As i said, kinda dont want to put pads in until i get the bigger brakes. its all bolt on and even legal so i just have to wait for the cash haha

mrbigport
8th May 2011, 09:18 PM
just paid my entry thru trackattack... can't wait till saturday to finally see what this thing can do.
bit of a downside being track only...the first time i feel this thing actually come on boost will be at qr
i now have 155% more power than the last time i was on track and i've havent even had anywhere to take it for a test spin.

Wish me luck...I think i might need it lol.

9th May 2011, 09:24 AM
^keep us posted on how it goes! Good Luck!

Adsie
9th May 2011, 06:14 PM
What turbo were you running again? Noticed we are the only 2 attendees :)), and I stuffed up my time forgot its the clubman track....

timbo
9th May 2011, 06:26 PM
can people come and spectate/lend pit hands?

Adsie
9th May 2011, 06:29 PM
Yeah, pretty sure entry is free for spectators and you can walk around the pit area.

mrbigport
9th May 2011, 07:05 PM
I'm just running a t25g from a Silvia so it's nothing special

What time have u done on clubman?? That firtst of middle pair of corners is good to unsettle things lol

Spectators are free and always welcome...feel free to bring a chair and hang out in the pits with us if you want...the more the better :)

Adsie
9th May 2011, 08:03 PM
Never done the clubman layout.

mrbigport
9th May 2011, 09:17 PM
make sure you watch ur speed thru the middle, the first of the 2 left handers is deceptively tighter than it looks and if you slide off (like i did a couple of times) you'll find theres a fairly serious drop after the ripple strip that can damag tyres if you try to jump straight back on

mrbigport
9th May 2011, 10:15 PM
just noticed what number you entered under lol

timbo
10th May 2011, 12:54 AM
cool blokes, whats a good time to rock up? driving my panda 86 up.

mrbigport
10th May 2011, 09:52 AM
racing normally kicks off around 12:30-1pm ish, but i'll be there from about 11-11:30am ish to change wheels over and just making sure i have everything sorted and ready.

timbo
10th May 2011, 11:12 AM
cheers mate! what way do you come up from canungra?

mrbigport
10th May 2011, 11:19 AM
I go out the back way thru beauy, saves 15-20 mins in travel time and no tolls...cant go wrong lol

if anyone wants to meet up at the servo at canungra and road trip out there, let me know

timbo
10th May 2011, 11:28 AM
no worries, see you at qr!

Was a good day but, as I said your car is pretty crazy now. Looking forward to seeing what you can do on the Sprint track.

mrbigport
15th May 2011, 09:18 AM
didn't i let you past coz i was only on 2 cyliners :P

it was a fantastic day, great to see you out on track again.
makes it a heap more fun when you have people to talk to who are racing too.

what was your best time for the day??
I hit 62.77 which hosed the whole hsv group by about 4 secs a lap lol

Adsie
15th May 2011, 10:01 AM
Yeah but you can't tell that in a photo...

Ended up with a 66.1 so as fast as the HSV group maybe

Am pretty happy with 10th. Do you remember if that escort that come 5th was the one with the cosworth twin cam? Good job on 4th, shows what the little corolla can do.

Think I've give lakeside a miss, not keen to spend the money. What times have you run out there?

mrbigport
16th May 2011, 07:20 AM
I'd say it was coz the turbo one blew a gasket and couldn't get more than 3psi

Nice vids. Some of the cars look a fair bit quicker then I though, like the 200SX and escort. Least I wasn't the only one to come off at turn 4. :yeah:

mrbigport
18th May 2011, 08:47 PM
yeah, kinda ran outa revs in second so i grabbed 3rd a lil hard and it launched me at turn 4 faster than expected lol
i found most of the things that held me up disappeared fairly quickly once i got around them, its not like they challenged me after i'd passed them.

so are ya gonna come to the street day on the 11th??

Adsie
18th May 2011, 09:03 PM
Yep I am keen for the 11th.

mrbigport
18th May 2011, 09:05 PM
i want to shoot for under 60 seconds on the sprint circuit...its cheaper, but they are only 4 lap sessions instead of 6

mrbigport
19th May 2011, 11:12 AM
im thinking of hitting this track day up if anyone is keen

racsov

heres my on board vid from saturday...unfortunately my cam gears both slipped on the out lap for the second session and I had to park it for the rest of the day but a 60.9 on cold tyres (35deg inside wheel/51deg outside wheel) was a good result.

Adsie those are huge numbers for NA and street driven congrats

What needs to be done? Should just bring it out if you can drive it on the street it should be fine...

Adsie those are huge numbers for NA and street driven congrats

Thanks, shame about you cam gear guess the fuel reg is fine then. Was looking forward to seeing you run under the 60s mark

I agree with Adsie...
if you can street it you can track it...
I ran a 60.9 and didnt even get my brakes to 250deg
and thats on stock jdm disks and calipers with $43 ferrodo pads from repco...not even drilled or slotted.

the thing to realize is that your weakest link is always going to be street tires
people assume that their brakes or suspension inst good enough without trying it
gotta remember back in the day they were racing monaros and toranas around bathurst for 500 miles with basically stock brakes...all your asking your car to do is 4 laps with 2 heavy braking points per lap

we need more people to get out and just have a go.

if we can get 10-15 people together who are keen i can get us all into one group during a sprint day
meaning only ae86dc people on track during that session. It might not be a dedicated track day...but it'd definitely be fun

i cant really street it at the moment :( she goes through about a litre of oil per ~300km mountain session LOL

mrbigport
15th June 2011, 04:56 PM
is it oil burn or oil leak??

Cause realistically its less than 50km all day on track

if its burn just top it up n come n play lol

so wats the go with sprints, u may hav covered it but didnt wanna read all 13 pages of posts, im assuming no drifting allowed, wats cost and rules cheers :)

mrbigport
22nd August 2011, 03:42 PM
yeah, basicly no drifting (trust me you'll get black flagged and kicked off), if you've seen my car you'll understand how open the rules are. basicly make sure its safe...its self scrutinered so go nuts. my ke70 is 812kg with 205rwhp semi slicks, fibreglass seat, 6point harness, plexiglass windows and no cage and they dont care. its $145 for 4-5 sessions in the arvo between 12:30 and 4:30pm last session is passenger rides.

mrbigport
22nd August 2011, 03:50 PM
basicly 3 timed sessions of 5 laps each to run the fastest lap time you possibly can.
on the sprint circuit anything under 62 seconds is fast and sub 60 is really flying.
last time i checked the Porsche cup boys run in the 58 odd second mark on full slicks

haveaparty
22nd August 2011, 04:51 PM
so pretty much, dont kill urself and no drifting. and u cant hav a passenger untill the last session.

mrbigport
22nd August 2011, 06:28 PM
Yeah that's the basics to it...no classes, no scruitineering, so it doesn't matter how stock or how crazy your car is...just rock up n go out for a thrash. Some people take it more seriously than others but end of the day it's all in good fun and your racing the clock not the other people so there's no stress if someone overtakes you.

cool. pretty sure i will be attending these now i know they could be fun, wats it cost to just watch. $10 at the gate like the driftings

mrbigport
23rd August 2011, 10:15 AM
free to spectate, and if you can talk someone into it its free to passenger ride

How did you go yesterday? Want to see the little rolla crack the 60secs

mrbigport
28th August 2011, 12:09 PM
Yesterday can be summed up in 1 word....WET!!
Most of my laps were in the 71second range with a 71.05 my best for the day.
to give you an idea of how wet it was...I was fourth gear wheelspinning past the control tower most laps.
I had one big off into the sand at turn ...got bucked by the bumps on the approach and locked all four. Hit the sand straight on at about 100kmh and allmost made it to the wall.

To the credit of the lil rolla I'm pretty sure it was the fastest rwd...behind a cpl of subies and evos.
When I could get the power down I was all over them. But snap oversteer in any gear made it alot of work just keeping the car pointed straight.

It was never gonna be a day to set records but it was a great learning experience and a lot of fun as long as you weren't taking it to seriously.

this is onboard footage from a supra. Its normally a mid 60sec car so it gives you an idea how wet it was.
I didnt bother filming from my car cause i have no wipers and i was relying on the super powers of rain-x

whats involved in doing a sprint day
like does my ca need to be cams aproved or anything?

Adsie
19th January 2012, 07:20 PM
No need for cams approved cars at sprint days. Just bring your car, pay your money and drive.

next street meet is feb 12...I'm gonna be there with bells on...
I have my new setup sorted now...835kg with currently 263whp (will be 300+ by next week)
should be good fun on the new surface

stx-16
24th January 2012, 02:33 PM
how much is it?

iv been told the new surface is really really slippery

mrbigport
24th January 2012, 03:21 PM
it was $145 last year for street meets
plus $55 for a 12 month assa lic.

Funkdoc
24th January 2012, 09:13 PM
Stx - I wouldnt say its slippery... however it was raining on the day i went, so it started out VERY slippery... and improved throughout the day... there's still patches of wet tarmac (not on the racing line) on my 57s lap.... plus my front tyres are pretty shagged... i honestly reckon theres easy 56s with new tyres on a good day...

mrbigport - 835kgs..... wow... thats friggin light... and 300whp... if ur suspension and tyres are sorted.... you should be clocking some amazing times..~!! what tyres are you gonna run btw?

mrbigport
25th January 2012, 12:51 AM
I'm running 13x7 a048's they're about 40-50 laps old now but seem to be holding up pretty good...suspension is geting pretty much on the money...could do to be a lil softer in the springs and a lil more control out of the shocks would be nice...but the whole setup should really agree with a smoother less bumpy track.

Anything special I should know about running a sub 60?

Funkdoc
25th January 2012, 10:27 PM
Theres nothing special about running under 60s... a smooth clean lap will do it... most people tackle the slower corners pretty good (since we're doing it all day long on the roads), good time can be made on the high speed corners (1 & 2).

One thing i can say, about 30sec after you realised you've run a 59... u'll be thinking about a 58...lol....

Also, u wont need softer springs i reckon... the new smoother track likes harder springs....

13x7 is a bit small.... esp for 300whp... i think u'll need bigger rubber... or uber smooth throttle control on exits....

mrbigport
25th January 2012, 11:30 PM
If you Google/YouTube search 4agte ke70 June sprints you can see my last decent video...I think I ran a 60.7 with 204whp..thoughts?

Hey bigport, I had a look at your vid, assuming ur clip is the one with the screamer hanging out the bonnet...

Firstly, I'm no pro myself, so what i say is my opinion only... so dont take it too seriously...

Can't see your steering wheel movement, but clearly you've got good control at the limit, you dont let the car get too outta shape and loose time. Good!

T1 & 2 Good speed, can take a wider line and use the whole track width(entry and exit)... brake earlier (10m) use the extra 10m to balance car with trail braking... ur car will be more balanced through the turn and u can get on throttle earlier.
T3 (r) brake earlier (as above)...makesure you dont float right before you turn in, turn in from the very left. take a later apex... by about a meter or 2... you will exit closer to the right.
T4 (l) because you are closer to the right at turn in, turn in slightly later and aim for later apex again... you will find that you'll be able to get on the throttle earlier and more room on the exit.

T5 (r) similar to T3, dont float right before turn in... start from far left... again aim for later apex...
T6 (l) slightly later apex again... ur exit is important here... think about setting up for max corner exit for T7
T7 (r) last right turn before the main straight... probably the most important corner... make sure u late apex here!! and use the full track on exit...

if u have a look at my clip, at first it seems i'm hugging the inside for last corner, but i'm actually taking a shallow late apex line, the car is about half a meter to the curb at the natural apex and the line tightens to a late apex. Again, this is for maximum corner exit. Sacrafice a couple kph at apex for 1 extra kph corner exit and ur on a winner...

in short... use full track width, esp at turn in. brake slightly earlier and trail brake for more balance, take a later apex for more corner exit speed. smoother throttle control on the corner exits....

hope that helps... very similar story to what paul stokell told me a few months back....
