We're always looking to improve on what we've got.

Constructive criticism and ideas are always welcome...

So if you have an idea or a suggestion for a feature or changes, this is an open forum to suggest away.

Cheers

Maybe have the 'Tech Questions' sub-divided into smaller sections?

Ie. Engine, Driveline, Suspension, Body/Cosmetic, Electrical, General.

Not sure how much of a stuff around it would be to do, but in my head I can see it making it a bit more organised/easier to find information, plus hopefully stop people asking the same questions over, and over, and over again.

Just a thought :)

Interesting... And excellent suggestion. I can make that happen for sure

yeah i guess its along the same lines as what blinded is saying, but break the forum down into more sub cat. for example like club 4age. then again i don't suppose we have as much traffic as that forum. i just find that site really easy to navigate and find what im after...

edit: you're doing a tops job anyway nicko, the improvement needs to come from the users following the rules ect...

oh and more nazi nicko comments, you come up with some classics sometimes!

Nicko
15th April 2011, 04:30 PM
More subcategories? we have heeeeeapssss already, but noted.

And thanks. Keep sending me n00bs and i'll keep sending you Nicko comments...

Edit : maybe we need a "pool room" forum to archive classic threads...

This would be great for when new people ask for the same old questions cluttering up the forum tech section, sections would be great and make it a shit load easy to find stuff as the search engine on this site is abit how ya goin

also can you take the you have to wait 30 secs before you can search again, that shits me to tear when you are trying to find something fast

Nicko

Sadly that can't be removed. But I will consider it for the upcoming "site supporters" group.

also what about some ae86/ke70 posters? i need somthing to hang in my shed :)

what i would really like is a compulsary state listing in the thread topic? makes for scaning through sale adds abit easier.

Yep, that ones on my list of things to fix this weekend.

No hoodies or jumpers this year. I have a few hoodies left from last year. This year we will be doing long sleeve Gildan t-shirts

State and suburb are about to become required info. "location" was made compulsory a few weeks ago, and is going very well.

ATM, that is only compulsory for cars for sale. And I have been enforcing it.

New sales system coming soon anyway. It'll be much easier to browse / search than the forums

Noticed you updated the required Profile info - Definately a step in the right direction

At the moment it appears that this is shown to all users (I.e the suburb) - Is this something that will change at all?

Jacobxxx

also currently location that comes up in the board is your country not town so as soon as everyone updates we're all from australia unless you go into their profile.

Will it be changed to show both + name?

Yep, working on making that info appear in the thread view.

Those from Overseas will find something to type in there... This site is 98% Australian users & content.

And yes, it will show ALL that info, Country, State, Suburb & First name as soon as I work out which template to edit.

I would like to see a subdivided 'for sale' section as per Toymods. Would makes it easier to find what you're looking for and saves sellers having to bump their thread every 18 hours.

Nicko
18th April 2011, 05:31 PM
Dear Javal,

In 30 days or less, we won't even have "for sale" stuff on the forums.

I've spent about two years writing something different which is:

* Easier to navigate
* Categorised (easier to search)
* Requires validation (less prone to scammers)
* Automatically marks items as sold after 2 weeks of no activity
* Has user feedback options (which I will get working later)
* Forces users to enter contact information, including a detailed location (down to suburb)

Trust me, worth the wait, and better than the way any other website does it at the moment...

Suburb location is pretty nasty, especially if you live in a small suburb. Just means that any would be thieves have a nice narrow field to look through...

This is what i was trying to get at with my post on Page 1.

Maybe it's an idea that this is required - but only Admin / Mod team can see this ?

If it gets to a point where the information is needed - then it's available ?

And in a for sale thread - you have to put a general Area such as "Sydney North"

Just some food for thought :)

Nicko
19th April 2011, 01:39 PM
To a point, I agree. I guess if you're not comfortable with it, make it a general area then.

But good to see people filling stuff out.

i like the new changes that have already been put in place, and also the new "for sale" stuff nick has in store.

you're doing a top job nick. thanks for all your effort

Nicko
19th April 2011, 05:58 PM
No worries, much more to come just trying to get stuff under control before we go adding all the new stuff - that'll end up keeping me busy for a while.

And as another item to add to my list http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/profile.php?do=editpassword (change password link) needs to be added to the menu as well.

Happy to entertain other (reasonable) requests and feedback ideas as always.

ohk, i just didnt wanna cramp up the sub forum with multiple thread, thanks

Nicko
20th April 2011, 11:47 AM
No need to worry about that.

Each event should have its own thread anyway. That way later on down the track, there isnt information missing when your readers want to find something.

And also, we don't allow the deletion of anything. Not even full admins can delete anything completely.

You will have a reply to your PM later today.

Cheers

You need a spell checker before that. Some of your posts lately have been pretty shitful. Please work on that...

I think I have looked into this issue before, can't remember what the outcome was. Will get back to you.

Is there any chance of moving away from yellow as the main font colour? I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but it's a bit hard to read personally. I think OG black would be great!

It isn't the main font colour, it is the hyperlink colour, and black hyperlinks can't be seen as well.
