hey guys,

am looking at buying a set of wheels for my 86 and wondering if they will fit, ive done my best to work out the measurements as they are imperial...just want to double check

15x8 4on4.5" which is 114.3?

and the backspacing is 1" 2" 3" 4" 4.5" 5".

so according to this chart, thats if its correct, what backspacing should i get (just have rolled guards)

are they for the front or back?

alot of people will say if they are going on the front to keep the offset as close to zero as possible but really you could run the -12(4inch back space) down to the zero (4.5inch back space) and they should sit pretty good

cheers johl,

im after front and rears as well, would 3" be too much? or best to stick to 4" all round?

oh i forgot to ask before is 10kg heavy for a rim? or is it about average

yes 3 inch would be crazy on only an 8. this is coming from a guy that runs 15x10-51 so each to their own.

you could go 4 inch on the front and 3.5's rear or make the rears wider to the 8.5's or 9's. if it were me with rolled guards i would run 8.5's 4.5inch up front and 9's 4.5inch rears. that would have them poking a little and would have a nice stretch with 195/50/15 tyres.

10kg is heavy for an 8 for sure. my old ssr mk3's were 15x8.5 and weighed 7.1 kg.

Well they don't offer 8.5 or 9 but will ask if they can do it but I don't want to pay too much.

As for you saying 3" will be heaps. How does it affect the appearance of the rim. ie too much dish/poke (dare I say it)

Thanks for your help

If it is a cheap rim which by how much they weigh I would say they are, usually not matter the offset they all look the same the only difference being the thickness of where the rim mounts to the hub
