Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Diamond or Basset Racing wheels from the US?
Ive been looking round on the net and I love the look of them! So cheap aswell.
So if anyone has had any experience knows of anywhere in Australia to get them, I would love to hear it.
Opinions on them would be good to hear aswell.

Bahaha here we go again this topic has everyone divided.
Well I like em infact I'm looking at buying some myself... I'm gonna email basset racing for a quote and with the dollar so good there is not a better time to get them.
There is one person I know of who runs them ill see if I can find the thread.

I've got Diamond Racing Wheels, a pair of 15x9 and a pair of 15x8 $900 AUD delivered. Ring them up they don't have an Aussie supplier, you can choose any offset you want as well. They're fairly light, good price and strong, plus if you bend 'em they're cheap to fix.

The Basset wheels seem to be alot cheaper than the Diamond Racing Wheels, pretty sure there on their site for under a hundred dollars a wheel! Looking at putting them on a T18 and a AE71. No idea what sort of offset to get with stock guards. I can get access to a roller though.

I started a tech q on what wheel size and in there I posted a chart that tells you the backspace and offset for the wheel size. Should be near the top and not hard to find

Widening your own steelies wold probably work out cheaper, that is, if you have them.

Last I heard it was about 150 a wheel to have them widened.

true its damn expensive now to widen wheels in general would most likely be cheap in the end to get some of the above sent in from the u.s i priced up getting some 15x10's gonna cost me around 250 an wheel or 350 if i wanted to down size them to 15x9's

Here is an email i received from Bill at Diamond Racing Wheels regarding shipping.

"The Pro Challenger is a race only wheel. The Pro Series is available
for street use. These are available in 15x6, 15x7, 15x8, 15x10, 16x6,
16x7, 16x8 and 16x10 sizes. Shipping cost varies with quantity and
size of rims. The average cost to ship 4 wheels to Australia is about
$450.00 on UPS.

Bill"

Rims i were chasing were about $85 US each for 15x8 -30 :)

Doesn't matter if you get the race only!

That's not too bad, less than $900 delivered's pretty good :)
Now to work out the offset needed to get 10's under the rear... Lucky Scorps have mahoosive rear guards lol

Try someones 15x10 -12 Superlight, surely someone in your area would have one.

Noone, everyone thinks 16x7 VS Clubsport wheels or 12-slotters are the king of wheels out here lol

I know this is old, but how did you go in the end? Did you get some of these bad boys?

Been thinking about some of these for a while, so would be keen for your opinion.

I've got some Diamond Racing steelies, they're pretty damn light for steelies, lighter than my Superlights that's for sure. Ended up being $900 landed at my door for a set of four, 2 x 15x9 -12 and 2 x 15x8 -0.

I can't recommend them enough, super easy to deal with and they're good wheels, easy to fit tyres to.

Thanks for the reply mate. Going by what you said, it is a no brainer!

What sort of car did you fit them on? Do you have some pics for us to have a perve?

I've been emailing bill over the last few days and he has clearly told me 2 times they don't do a 15x9
Its either 15x8 or 10's. I even screen shot an article on speed hunters and sent it to him.

KurtHS

Well the pair of 15x9's on my car says otherwise. I don't know?

Well after a few emails i ordered 4 16x10's with 5.5" of back space all for the rear of my ke

It's got a shorten'd hilux diff in it, i've already got 16x8's and 16x10's with 6" back space but i have to use a 10mm wheel spacer to clear the coil over on the inside, hope my calculations are right

dougone
23rd January 2013, 06:27 PM
wouldn't say it was easy with the time delay from Milwaukee to Perth but its finally done, another week and they should be here

KurtHS
23rd January 2013, 07:43 PM
Seriously? All you have to do is get up early? How is that hard? It's
Not hard to figure out the time delay

lolwat
