Picked this up as a little run about after daily driving a Range rover for 3 months ($$$)
-78 model suzuki carry van
-5 door,2 seats!
-2 stroke 530cc 3cyl mid mounted engine,(recent reco)
-RWD!
-10x4.5" rims (strait ballin)
-Grey primer/dents
-Red vinyl re-trim

-%100 awesome!
had a laugh at the 2cylinders of fury thread.....we might have to have a park off!!

Plan is...
-dump it on the bump stops
-replace muffler with a strait pipe and twin motorbike mufflers from something big, boso styles!
-White walls!
-black n white checkered roof lining!

Thats solid at this point but we'll see how it goes....I've been contacted by a suzuki wrecker already telling me how Uber rare it is....so looking forward to doing a service!

lol,yeah...I think there on backwards? the actual rim bolts up via 10 bolts to the outside of the drum.....weird setup!
I hear the later models have a 4x114.3 stud pattern.....so looking for a wreck somewhere...I'm shattered,I seen a front end and a diff from drum to drum from an 85 model for sale at the same time i bought this....only i didn't realize i needed it until after they were gone!
wouldn't mind a nice set of 13x6' mkII's or something similar down the track....my bro's 14" meshies are there but they would be too big i reckon!

motors actually pretty good to drive....in comparison to my 3.5ltr rangie with 33's,shit's actually kinda zippy!
yeah...there's the air filter,coolant,3 plugs & leads etc and the g,box/diff oil.......pretty strait forward service! lol
I can't see a fuel filter in it anywhere....although I thing i might fit one up before the pump to be safe!

getting a RWC next week,or maybe friday......see what it needs, gotta get it legit before i go lobbing coils in half and flipping leaves!

man that van is pretty creepy eh, what you need to do is get some of these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15S0g8pG6HU and you're good to go :)

Joshie_Mcslide

problem is,using it as a serial killer van could get crowded up back.....max load is 500kg,so only 4 bodys max!

28th May 2011, 04:32 PM
you're going to have to go out and get some uprated springs and tyres if you wish to do some serious serial killing.

been sussing out some plans for an expansion chamber/power pipe for it.....power band anyone??
and,just for fun....http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MOTORIZED-BICYCLE-BIKE-DUAL-BOOST-BOTTLE-NOS-KIT-/260783052239?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb7e195cf

I had one of these setup on my old Go-Ped,and my mate almost died testing it!
good for upto 250cc....so 2kits should work nicely on this!!
LOL

Today I straitened out the front bumper and repainted it....not sure if you's noticed but it was bent from a street sign incident.....I didnt engage the hand break all the way,was warming it up out front and it rolled down the hill and kissed the pole!
good times!
really nothing major happening as of yet.....oh wait,i did clean the factory "clear indicators" too....yeah that's it for now, pics tomorrow!

Tail pipe fell off today.....and since my rwc inspection is tomorrow,I figured it was a good excuse to go see the guys at AutoHush and got something bent up,nice little chrome tip bent up about 50deg....looks and sounds cool! actually having a little more back pressure also helped the performance too! funny that!
pics tomorrow....for real this time, got some today with my phone, but its easier to get them from the camera to the computer than from the phone!

RWC is almost done, windscreen's going in tomorrow and I'm just waiting on tyres to come via courier and a tie rod end via express post...Hopefully should have it back together and done by thursday, looks good at this point!
Here's some random progress shots

I also decided since i was paying $400 for new 10" tyres I might as well tidy up the rims....so I gave the drums another coat of matt black, roughly cleaned up the rims before hitting the bolted(the rims are actually 2 piece)area's with some more black, then masked up the nuts and went over the rims again in silver.....pulled the tape off the and hit em with clear!

haha,so after i had new tyres fitted and I had to split the rims the pictured paint job Failed!

Bob Jane couldn't get the wheels off the car,or couldn't balance them or do an alignment:thumbdown:
so I had to get them off and take them in,had the tyres stripped and left.....10" split rims can be fitted in the kitchen!!

Figured Id paint up new nuts n bolts and do the rims again proper.....primer an all!
Looks Smikky Dick!

Pics tomorrow...or a few days,haha....I've gotta play find the body number tomorrow!
I've found the tags, but the vin and original rego number i cant find on the vic data base,so I need to find the actual body stamp and find out whats up there!
I couldn't book a rego appointment because the bloke couldn't find the history....wonder if it last being road registered in 1990 and since being registered as a farm vehicle has anything to do with that?
I will be devastated if i can't get it registered!!
What goods a car as fun as this little gem if i can't drive it?

Joshie_Mcslide
14th June 2011, 12:15 PM
Sorted!
Found the History......This Car was last registered in 1990!!!:P
and never with the current engine, which brings a bit of proof to the table of the guy i bought it off saying it had a reco engine put in and has been sitting since!
Awesome!

43ger Performance,Resurrecting the Dead since 2008!
^Might be a worthy sticker^

Rego Very soon.....then the shit drops!

off to vic roads in the morning!

Then I feel like driving around getting quotes to have the rear leafs re set!

I noticed there are sleeve's above the top spring seats in the front struts....I plan to remove these for an instant 2.5" drop up front,No chop!
maybe snip off one coil with some bolt cutters to be safe.....yes bolt cutters! Why not?
lol

I finally got a battery that fits in the factory location!.....and apparently i'm the first to buy one of these cos its a secondary auxiliary battery for the current model Mercedes,Im which case no one's needed to replace it yet!
I'll probably be the only #### with one that's not in a merc!
Hahaha!

on another note,Installing a stereo in this is proving difficult to say the least....6" speakers wont fit in the doors, lol! so my intended front speakers are now rears!
So I'm currently building a custom panel for the rear door to fit the 6"s in...obviously the 6x9's are scratched from the plan now!
going to trade them in for a pair of 4"s to match the 6"s and try my hand in glassing up some custom 4" pods?!?!?!
Or.......If anyone knows where i might be able to buy a pair for a decent price, let me know!
think i fiberglass kit cost like $45,so depending how many times i fuck it up as to how many kits i will need.....If i can buy a custom buit pair from someone who knows what there doing for anything under $100,I'm keen as mustard!

maybe an inch lower max while still running the 10's.......you'd be surprised how little clearance you get running 145/80-r10 tyres!
once I put the new diff in an get coilovers done for the front....or even just source some inserts for my struts,I'll be getting a set of 13x8's for it!

I payed $300 for the new 10's for the rwc,so i figure I'll get my moneys worth out of them....sooo,getting some white walls done either tomorrow or moday....I'm thinking a thin double white wall?
Also, finally done some research and found the part number for a boss kit that fits...should also be here monday,I've got this little 13" shadow chrome sass wheel laying around.......I wanna get a 12" later but this will do.

Power pipe/Expansion chamber is done....pics up later.

Also a pair of coilovers are now on the drawing board...looking into possibly adapting some ke70 struts? whichever works out easiest! inserts for the st90 struts are the problem,no one stocks parts to lower these things!
I wanna go down another 2-2.5"..rear bump stops/chassis will need to be modded, flip rear leaves and adjust coilovers to match!
might need to look into a radiator sump, bash plate thing....everything is under the floor so once it's on its rails all that shit will be dangerously close to the ground!
although 13's should get it sitting lil higher.

I ended up sourcing an early VW golf gti 2-piece chin spoiler,Its plastic rather than fiberglass so should be a bit tougher also the dimensions are perfect!
it's another thing i can justify because of the ride height,lol....gotta get that air flowing to the radiator!!
so its actually practical!

I bought a G200 mira for a more practical daily,well a little more practical anyway......It has 4 seats!

I was going to buy a W124 320E Mercedes sedan....but the mira popped up,and I had to have it!.....Oh and did I mention it has a jap spec TRXX engine conversion done?

Alas.....My accelerator cable has snapped in the carry!:verysad:

after no luck finding any replacement,I think i might have to make one,it's sort of like the old bmx giro systems,2 into 1.....1 goes to the pedal, the 2 fork off to the carb & oil pump.
It's only snapped off at the pedal,so it's just a matter of pulling it appart & putting back together with a new piece.

Got the Mira in for a RWC today.......get her on the road asap!
