it's the FR-1 concept vehicle, which was actually started close to 10 years ago, it's taken so long purely due to it being put together solely on donations and sponsors, some people may have seen it at the Melbourne motor show a year or so ago.On Thursday we were at avalon airport for a photo shoot for Top Gear Magazine, these are just photos from my personal camera, this was the first real shakedown of the vehicle, prior to this all testing was done in the car park of the Lindsay fox car museum which is around 50 metres in length, for a car that get's to 100 in the low 3's it was good for it to finally stretch it's legs, firstly we had a drive shaft snap due to it being to short (we're currently waiting on longer shafts). through extension travel it would come half way out the CV and then with power on as the arm came down the joint would give way, we had that replaced in an hour after rushing to Geelong for a replacement cv, then on the next run it seems either the clutch or gearbox had let go (still waiting on details).

The engine is a Corvette 6 litre (ls something :peek:), pretty much standard minus some extremely well designed headers( done on CAD) and a nice intake, which feeds air through the base of the car, though it does look like it comes in between the seats i know

the body is made entirely out of carbon( using approximately 250 square metres at half a mm thick, the front crossmember is made out of a single piece of billet alloy all tubing is chromoly, it has an in wheel suspension setup, supplied by Multimatic severely reducing unsprung mass and completely removing any form of bump steer, however, there's a good chance we'll end up completely redesigning this setup due to wanting more tunability in the damper The rear end is currently a DeCarbon shock but will soon be replaced with a TechRacing shock with external gas canisters. The display is a Motec data logger.

this has all been put together by donations and when finished will eventually be auctioned off for charity. any more q's feel free to ask.

first thing we're doing when we touch down is going to the track to drive the thing, it's a hyundai genesis for those who don't know, rwd production cars are fairly limited in korea so this is what they're working with, awesome fun. will get vids and update when i get back :)

The other day It was really late and I wasn't paying much attention and I didn;t give way to my right at a rounabout. Luckily there was enough of an initial gap.

I am really fortunate.
