In a way it would suck to own a car like that Ferrari in S'pore. No place to exercise it. Do they have a track?

me and my wife went to singapore in 03 was the best trip we went on...
Craig and Cassie's trip to singapore.
When we were in singapore we noticed one thing straight away, almost every car was new and they were pretty much all immaculate. In singapore cars are much more expensive than they are here, due to not only the selling price but all the taxes that are applied to them. Because Singapore is such a small island the government incourages the use of public transport by applying more taxes to vehicles to stop the average person buying one.The public trasnsport there is really effcient and well operated, it's also minimal cost.
The place we stayed in was home to alot of well paid people and that's where the shots of the Ferrari and Porsche came from. Most of the others are from when we were out and about seeing the sights. We also noticed a lot of the cars were either fitted up with body kits and nice rims or painted in funky colours like the hot pink bettle and rolla.
One of our trips took us to Sentosa , a holiday resort and tourist hot spot. I(Cassie) thought we were going to see the sights and do the tourist thing, little did i know there was a car show happening that I was dragged to. Most of the off road shots were taken here at the Autochallenge 2003. It was quite interesting how the show was organised. There was the usual show and shine in one part of the car park and then in a baracaded area they laid down gravel to cover the area to simulate a special stage rally track. Here the locals could register and show their driving ability and car capabilities to the crowd of spectators.
There were a few that stood out from the others like the black sprinter with it's home sawn of exhaust job and the Mazarati, who's owner must have been a total wack job to thrash a car that's worth that much, as much as he did.
Probably the best thing for me was that not only was there all the cars and boys stuff to do but there was also a lady there doing all the girlfriends nails, hense all the photos were taken by Craig while my nails dried.

Singapore is a really nice place, i went there several years ago for a holiday... i just wish i had my SLR then, there was some amazing sights... i reckon i would have come back with a couple of gigs of photos lol.
I love how green everything is over there, and yea like puzzle man said is there is alot more emphasis on public transport over there so alot of the cars that are on the road are up market.
Best i had was my point and shoot digi cam

totally agree singa is a mad place. from what i experienced it is so clean and efficient. The trains blew me out, compared to sydney it was bullshit accurate and awesome.

think thats a 360 challenge stradale not the 430, and i've heard a top end company like mercedes is releasing a model with matte paint. judging by the one you saw, it's pretty effective. looks like you had a mad time dan. In my opinion if you're under 30 the best way you can spend your savings is on travel.

V-tec is that bottom photo taken from up top of the merlion itself???

Been there a few years ago, seriously it would take a week to see everything, it's a tiny country with not much to do other than shop or go to Sentosa.
Anyone who owns a car in Singa has to be mega rich. Eg. A new 1.6L Corolla costs AU$59000 + Registration fee + Road Tax + Certificate of Entitlement + additional registration fee (110% of Market value) + customs duty (31% of Market value) and after all that the car is only kept for 10 years before being scrapped/exported. It's no wonder nearly everyone takes public transport, but thankfully it's one of the most efficient systems I've ever seen.

Hmm, I remember my days in Singapore on business. It is a really nice place as stated, very clean too. Kinda funny though when you see all this and then a bunch of Indians bundled into the back of a light truck with nothing stopping them falling out. It's a bit of a what the...

One of my business associates over there had a Lexus 4x4 and I gave him so much shit about how he has a glorified Toyota. When I found out how much they get taxed for cars I found out why he took it a little more offensively than I thought he would, lol. Poor bastards, but I guess it's why Singapore is known for being one of the more elitist countries in the region.

Think in my week there, must have seen more Ferrari's in person that I had in my entire life, motor show attendance included. Would just walk out the front of my hotel and BAM, two would drive past or something. I hear old cars there are very expensive too to keep on the road... they up the rego over a certain age or something, probably similar to Japan.

Think the only thing I didn't like about Singapore was the humidity. Can stand heat, but god damn it was humid there. I can't even stand it here sometimes, in Brisbane, so I practically die in a lot of Asian countries. Beautiful, beautiful place though.

Who woudn't resist it.... Highway is the best.... You want to know who is Singaporean, they take right lane, Malaysian driver ikut kiri.....

Sometimes you see a Singaporean driver decide to go back halfway in the highway journey because they got POTONG by Proton Wira... hahaha
