urthboy is pretty sweet.....there is a difference between gansta and talent..

50 cent is keeping deaf, dumb raping alive though.

AJPS
27th February 2009, 11:24 AM
but you can have gangsta with talent

Axentrik
27th February 2009, 12:34 PM
50 cent used to be good before the get rich or die tryin album... how to robs a funny joint "I'd rob odb but it probably aint worth it" made me lol. Yer most of the real gangsters have talent. Its just the people who focus on making themselves sound as gangsta as possible that forget to actually make good music.

AJPS
27th February 2009, 12:50 PM
I'd rob ODB but that'd be a waste of time, Probably have to clap him run and toss the '9

not a bad track, but when you diss that many people with a corny "this aint serious" line bound to piss a lot of people off

KRSONE still rates 50, i rate KRS, i do not rate 50.

Kanye West is not hip hop. So he cannot be mentioned in this thread.

The only people that ruin it are the musicions themselves, they get hungry for money so they make what appeals to the majority.

Saw N*E*R*D lastnight + GMF. GMF failed hardcore, played to an aussie crowd, so put shit in there to appeal to them, fucked it hard.

N*E*R*D was off the hizzy. Pharrell is the best 'performer' i've ever seen.

Saw Lupe recently too, that went off.

People saying they like Pez and Muph & Plutonic need a clue. They're a disgrace.

GCH, J5, Pac, X, Nas, N*E*R*D, Jedi Mind Tricks, Cube, Dre, mnm, cypress, busta, Atmosphere.

someone who likes NERD and uses words like hizzy really shouldnt be commenting about Pez or the aussie hip hop scene in general.
although there are some idiots out there who know nothing about real hip hop and just like an artist because they're from Australia, ForthWrite (pez and 360) are great lyricists.
if you actuallly meant pegz then your probably too uneducated to comprehend intelligent topical lyrics.

aus hip hop is fail cause they talk about the same crap in every song, like the streets, i dont care where your money went, you put it in a tv you dumb fuck.

if you listen to hip hop, at least dont buy their music, that way they will stay true to their words and not become loaded assholes.

Only real aus hiphop i like is pertty much urthboy.
political, he keeps it reaallll.
ive talked drank with urthboy and elgusto many times now and they are cool dudes.
aussie battla is cool, cool fresstyler and doesnt give a shit about his persona or his profile.

If you want some cool down to earth aus hip hop have a listen to grass roots street orchastra.
So smooth, the main dude works (auctually think its the corn stand but i cant remember) at the popcorn stand at woodford seeen them support urthboy a few times and the herd. pretty cool.

freestlye for like 10+mins about political shit, haha.
I understand where u are coming from beal.
its like its hard writing this shit without saying "real".

but there are def dudes out there who are in it for the right reason.
dont judge because of there accent.

Pretty big call dude. Ive been into punk for years, its all love, Millencolin Kingwood concert was fucking amazing best gig ive ever been to.

Only aussie artists i listen to anymore are the Elefant Traks dudes, some of their beats are so fresh, like this one from the Hermitude, just dig the slow mellow beat.

There ain't an MC out there dog that's messin with me
Lyrically it may seem that I'm mentally disturbed
But I'm the illest brother comin out the suburbs
Everybody say that I rhyme like a glock
cause I bust on the spot and put a hole in your knot
Semi-automatic thoughts is loaded to talk
Whatever I talk leave MC's outlined in chalk
You can't walk the walk? Then get to steppin
Cause whatever's in my reach is a weapon
You messin with a homicidical analytical criminal
I'm clear when recorded to digital, thirty-two track
I murdered you black, I heard that you cats
wanted to test me, so I left 'em, bloody and messy
You don't impress me Myke and Iriscience, are deadly
The next chapter cats gettin together on the medley

Female MC's, yay or nay?
Honestly can't handle girl MC's, they shit me to tears. Lauren Hill is an exception of course. Aussie chick MC's are particularly frustrating with A-Love springing to mind. Their efforts to come across really macho and aggressive which I find quite off putting. That chick from spankrock (not entirely a hip-hop/rap outfit however) isn't too bad though.

man. try find a 2 disc album called FLY GIRLS!
http://http://pics.livejournal.com/dj_marik/pic/0000sryx

harlem girls. its pretty basic but its defs got the original feel of new york, which is what i love. back when hiphop wasnt gangster. i seriously love it. but stuff like miss macro and shit. its just shit, makes me want to piss all over myself while im lying in bed at night.

i generally agree with most things you say however your statement holds absolutely no intellectual basis. haven't you heard of griselda blanco aka the queen of cocaine?

either way im still struggling to find a direct correlation between hip hop and gangsterizm.

anyways theres a few good female emcees i know of, jean grae being the first that comes to mind.

EDIT::: GHOSTFACE WAS FUCKING SICK.... got another signed shirt for my wall.

dudes certainly got talent especially for such a young guy but i dont know about aus's best or how you could even go about classifying such a thing.

Aforementioned (Purpose and motive), Prime, K21, Social Change, Pure Product are all killin it but if i had to pick a favourite it would probably be Shane Skillz. HE FUCKING REPRESENTS CUNT.

Yeah, got their latest album Threads, not as good as their older stuff but still ahs a few good tracks.

They are turning electro-ish and their beats aren't really that hip hop based anymore.

Slychain is a fresh track, check it out.

Hermitude isn't bad but as stonerkid has pointed out they've sort of gone down the electro path.

Gtronic Radio on Itunes radio is so dope. Best station featuring old-school and underground hip hop. I've been punishing it lately to get my hiphop fix. All cool shit.

KRS-One - 'P' Is Still Free is playing as I type.

Low Budget - Tailor Made is a tune I'm liking at the moment...courtesy of triple j, surprisingly.

Fuck, is he hitting BRIS?!

After a bit of discussion here.

What do you guys think?

foxy brown ;)
only one i can listen to.
lil kim etc jus too fkn gangster haha

Axentrik
29th July 2009, 06:50 PM
Lol Chapl, lil kim is far from gangster thats just a fake image portrayed by 90% of commercial artists in order to appeal to the dumb and ignorant who don't realize hip hop and gangster are not synonymous.

jean grae, byata, eternia, lauryn hill etc all dope female emcees

Byata gets my vote for top female emcee, wu tang affiliated says it all really.

French hip hop for the win. Wicked aggressive styles sound good as in frog tongue.
