Don't you have aftermarket extractors on it?

Jusdrifn 86
15th April 2005, 02:19 PM
no, i was reading bill zilla's ae86 site and he did some tests with the big port 4age, he first did it with the stock exhaust system, then tryed various other after market extractors, the only ones that made any improvement were genuine TRD ones, any other extractors cost you power

101mm at lowest point
so just legal

good to hear!

does it just scrub on one side? maybe your panhard rod needs adjustment?

Jusdrifn 86
24th January 2006, 01:41 AM
nah, i've had a play with that to get the axel centered...
just sorting a few options now to stop the scrubing...

car handles exactly how i want too... thanks david!

RobertoX
24th January 2006, 01:47 AM
after all the bullshit i told you the suspension would be good! im glad it handles good!

also you should run a 195/50/15 tyre, that should make it scrub less also...

decoyslikecurves
24th January 2006, 01:49 AM
use smaller tyres. on your 8 inch rear rim you should be using 185s or 195s.
You'll find the response it gives you outweighs the slight drop in overall grip from running 205s or 225s.

Also, take a hammer to your rear gaurds and beat the lip in - all done. If anything I rekon the 210mm springs are too high!

post some new pics

decoyslikecurves
24th January 2006, 01:54 AM
I just looked at the pics again - more specifically at the tyres. Get some stretch in there! what are they like 205 front and something even bigger on the rear? Get some 195 on the front and 195 ont he rear, maybe even 185 if it till scrubs. Some tyre places wont like doing it, but I can promise you it makes the car feel a lot more sharp and focused, and is perfectly safe - in fact I dont think I have ever run a legal sized tyre on my old 86s. always 175s on 7's and 185s on 8's. Makes it look sweet, and gives it way more response.

Also looking at your profile, looks like a 55? or possibly more?

Should run no bigger than a 50 profile on a 15 inch tyre. Any bigger and you lose response.

ae71neo
24th January 2006, 09:40 AM
oooo! Pics!

Pretty sure hes running 195/50 on the front and 205/50 on the back.

Oh yeah justin did you go 7kg fronts 6kg rears?

Jusdrifn 86
24th January 2006, 11:47 AM
yeah, ae71 neo is correct...

i am putting 195s on the rear this morning to see if that helps... and maybe a bit of flare...

oh and get some T3 negative roll center adjusters off dave, I put some on my car before I sold it and they kick a lot of ass. Stop bump steer, give more track on the front and more camber.

Actually yes and no.

They are Performance Superlights but from the classic range, not the normal range. The classic range has a smaller centre creating a bigger looking wheel.

I refer to http://www.performancewheels.com.au/super_lite_wheels.htm and http://www.performancewheels.com.au/classic.htm#classic

Slightly different but an awesome looking wheel!

Cheers

Jusdrifn 86

yeah, i had to make sure when i ordered them that i got the smaller center ones, for the 15" wheel when you get the bigger center, it looks so average, such a huge disc in the middle with short spokes.

5th May 2006, 02:20 PM
yeah, im regretting not getting 8"s for the front too...

concerntrating on power atm, i want about 140kw at the threads, with no lag, and good response

BouNCE-86
5th May 2006, 02:36 PM
So Justin? What will you be basing your 140kw around? 16v 20v N/A - Original? Or Turbo - S/C Setup?

Jusdrifn 86
5th May 2006, 02:52 PM
i was thinking 4agze with the bigger supercharger, or built strong with a small turbo making alot of boost.
or a 13b, maybe even non turbo

BouNCE-86
5th May 2006, 04:15 PM
Say no to Roto's................

IMO Keep it in the family, a nice well tuned S/C 4age would go the goods............! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

^^^ Wow my girlfriend isnt' that hot!

Um, neways, first time i've seen your thread.. Awesome job doing it all up!
Defiantly brings class to the AE86 name.
I'll be going for that style too hopefully -- nice and clean. I'm quite envious!

+1 for the Ice Break :P

Man I love that car.... I'll be aiming for a slightly lower profile, as I reckon I'd be cursed with bad luck and have my 86 stolen if it looked that good! (Touch wood for you man!)
Pitty petrol is getting close to the $1.50 a L mark, which really sucks.. It's another thing putting me off wanting a Hachi... But I've decided to go for class and comfort :D (With a dash of economy if i can get it!)
Enough with my rant -- Love the wheels, and the whole package :D
Congrats man.

...PS I've been looking around, but haven't seen any 86's on the Northside yet (keep thinking Corollas are Sprinters in my mind- -- I've got AE86 on the brain!)
