Ok, ok, before you all get your backs up, i'd just like to point out that i'm a very happy hachi owner and have been for a while. I've just moved back into the CBD from out west, and have spotted a couple of eight-sixes crusin' round everywhere. What really distresses me is that all of them seem really reserved, one even dogged me heaps bad. When I owned a S13, I could pull up next to one and have a chat, but it seems with hachi drivers, they seem keen to keep what they have done a secret (espechially fellow drifters)
So guys, if you own a silver, white or yellow hachi, and cruise around the epping area and someone flashes you... dont panic, be cool and give a wave!!!

the only time i have spoken to another hachi driver was a couple of months ago (because you dont see may (any) around were i live) and the guy didnt even know what great car he owned, he thought it was just another toyota, so i did the moralistic thing and took the time to educate him.

I terrorise hachi drivers on the streets of melbourne in my R32 by striking up conversations with them... they sorta warm up to me when I mention I have an ae86 track car. But usually I get the "you drive a skyline, how can you know anything about 86's" look/line.

I had to do a similar thing to my 40 something year old neighbour. She was a bit http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/blink.gif that I did up the same car she drives. BTW.. her sprinter has got to be the straightest one I have ever seen in Aust. Only mods are the sheep skin seat covers.

If she's not careful I'll take off with her uncracked dash http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Oh and she could not get over that it was a cult car in Japan and when I showed her Initial D and the concept behind it she was like... "fuck outta here!" http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ohmy.gif

lol same here...the chick across the street from me used to own one. She came over once after seeing both of mine in the driveway. She couldnt understand why i was "hotting" them up. If only she knew what a great car she had...she sold it just before she moved in...for a starion http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/blink.gif

down my way they are a common sight but only the same ones, me and my mate zach. this is pretty much the reason they are recognised here, we are always out n about. there will be another spastik 86 joining us soon, (see nightdevils "craigs 86 project" in members rides, this thing is the goods!).

yeah every time i see another 86 i usually pull up and just have a bit of a chat, all the people i have spoken to havent held anything back and i dont hold anything back when people ask about my car. i have found that pll are more likely to talk to ya if u are open about your own car

I always wave to fellow hachi drivers and any old school or modified toyota drivers. I've even waved to the odd *gasp* s13 after they have given me the thumbs up http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

funkymonkey
28th May 2005, 06:51 AM
coulda been mine... it was blue/black a while back, and lived at a workshop in moorabbin. Although I used the company transporters to move it around so it would have been on a multi deck car carrier.

I'm in Pimpama (Gold Coast Hinterland) Saw a red haci go past me twice with in 20mins. Black bonnet, Damaged black door, Didn't look the best but I stuck my hand out the window and waved with the biggest grin. Don't think he saw me. Anyone here? Big "Jap-Taxi" on the rear window mounted on an angle.

-Roy

I usually wave to people in hachi's. So if you see some kid throwing himself half out a car at you then that could possibly be me.

Never had a problem always have time for a chat. That car i believe might be written off now roy, i noticed a thread on another froum by a guy with the name of Jap-Taxi , he was asking ridiclulous prices for the parts left though, must of been the "takumi" tax.............
