Just a question...

are the AE86 sprinter guards the same as AE86 corolla guards...

Umm yeah. They are.

Unless you mean AE82 corolla. Then no. They don't.

Well its quite simple really. An AE86 sprinter is funnily enough also an AE86 corolla. Much like an AE86 trueno is also based off the same AE86 chassis.

I am assuming the original poster is asking whether the guards from an AE82 Corolla which look quite similar will fit an AE86. To which the answer is no, they will not fit.

sorry for the lack of detail...um..i was wondering are there any corolla guards that will fit onto the AE86 sprinter...as i am trying to find some straight guards that i can use as a mould to make my own fibreglass set...i know most of you will prob say just buy the fibreglass guards...but i can make a mould and then i can lay up a set anytime...and they will be as flared as i want them... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

In the JDM AE86 chassis cars, the Sprinter Trueno and the Corolla Levin have different guards.

However the AE86 Corolla Levin was called a Sprinter in Australia to add to the confusion, so it all depends on what market you're referring to AUDM, JDM etc.

ok, im pretty sure only ae86 panels/guards will fit on an ae86.

other model corolla panels wont, they are different size/shape

if you are gonna make fibreglass moulds you will need ae86 guards.

ok..cool...i might have to go scout around the wreckers this weekend and...id use mine but both of them have have a wack and arent that straight...and i want to use straight guards to make the mould otherwise it a waste of time...

you might get away with cutting an soarer's guards shorter... they seem to have similar headlights. Fibreglass guards are about $500 out of japan for a pair anyways.

yeah...il have a look around...for $500 i will easily have the moulds made and a couple of sets of guards...and shaped the way i want them...

Drift king...thanks for the offer....that would have been great but im on the gold coast....

yeah...i know streeter makes them...but for $570 that he quoted me i can set up some moulds and make a couple of sets and any time i may smash one i just have to lay up another one instead of spending another $570...

cheers

this is what i have done today to my guard....i decided to just straighten mine out and use them as the ones to mould off...they are approximately 30mm wider at the flare of the guard...the outer lip....that is as far as i am going to go i think as that will give me plenty of room http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

before i started the lip was about 5mm from the outside of the tyre...so as you can see...there is a lot more room now...

They look good!
Maybe you should consider selling copies of these gaurds for cheaper than streeters and people would prolly buy them!
