Wacht it yesterday at city market. Great movie, without the rice http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif . A must for hachi and ID diehard fans. (not so much for the mitsubishi http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif )

Although this was shot in hongkong, i couldent tell, there was almost NO CGI, the sliding looked real, and from the ending, it looks like theres going to be a sequel.

Don't want to spoil anyone on what happen's in the movie http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/cool.gif

Wacthed it on thursday, not bad movie overall, they could of put more thought into the characters roles, but i know that they cant fit all the cars and characters in this live action movie than the cartoon as they had to skip so many things in order to cover first, second and third stages. Itsuki is a complete crack up! And Itsuki has an AE85 trueno! not levin http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif !!! Bunta could've been a much more wiser character than being the drunk he is in the movie. Ryousuke shold've been more enthusiastic and more knowledgable. The music was ok and the sceneries was the perfect settings for this kind of movie. I enjoyed it and give it a 7 of 10.

HONG KONG - Darth Vader, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are feeling the heat at the box office from an unusual rival — a movie based on a Japanese comic book, directed by Hong Kongers and starring a Taiwanese pop star making his debut in the movies.

"Initial D," the story of a young street car racer, has stunned "Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith" and the action thriller "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," starring Jolie and Pitt, at the Hong Kong box office.

The movie grossed $3.6 million over 10 days as of last weekend. By comparison, the latest Star Wars installment has made just $2.4 million over 46 days. "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" fared better, earning $2.8 million in 25 days.

"Initial D," filmed in Japan, is a testament to the far reach of Japanese popular culture and marks a unique cultural cross-pollination. Some of the Chinese entertainment industry's top creative talent teamed up to bring the work of Japanese comic artist Shuichi Shigeno to life.

At the helm are Andrew Lau and Alan Mak — the directing duo behind the acclaimed Hong Kong police thriller "Infernal Affairs," which is being remade into a Hollywood film directed by Martin Scorcese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Leading the cast is Asian pop sensation Jay Chou, a singer-songwriter and one of Chinese-language music industry's biggest names.

Chou's fame also translates into instant regional appeal for the movie, a commercial consideration director Mak said was inevitable for a movie with a $10 million budget.

"Whether it's Taiwan, mainland China or Hong Kong, he's the hottest singer of his age group," Mak told The Associated Press.

Rounding out the cast is veteran Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong, local heartthrobs Edison Chen and Shawn Yue and singers Jordan Chan and Kenny Bee. Japanese actress Anne Suzuki, who appeared in the 1999 film "Snow Falling on Cedars" with Ethan Hawke, plays Fujiwara's classmate and love interest, Natsuki Mogi.

Just watched the movie (got a copy here) and I must say I was suitably impressed with it sticking to the story line of the cartoon although what the hell they were thinking making Bunta a drunk is beyond me..............

not entirely sure but i think a 'screener' is where somebody goes to the cinema with a camcorder and tapes it in the cinema

DRiiFT_King

a screener is the unfinalized finished film, like a full lenght preview so they can chance things if it stinks before it hits cinimas

ok it doesn't look like anybody's local hoyt's or birch carril and coyle will be showing this flick sou bittorrnent is your best option. if you're only on 56k the find someone to snail mail you a copy on cd or something. i'm sure a lot of people on our forums would be glad to help.
the version i downloaded was a bit washed out and hard to keep up with the action while trying to read the subtitles, but all in all it was not a dissappointment and i was quite pleased with the end result.

i'll definitely be buying it if and when it comes out on dvd

bunta being a drunk was an interisting twist on the storyline and i reckon the best bit was when tak stepped on bunta's nuts when he pretended to pass out.

amusing if nothing else

now, now neko.
if the file you have is called wrd-initiald-scr.avi or something similar have a look around for a subtitle file called something like wrd-initiald-scr.eng and put it in the same folder as the video.
then you need to download a program like vobsub and install that.

once you've done all that just open it in windows media player or winamp or whatever and it should play with subtitles
