I run 15" by 7 Longchamps on the front (unknown offset, but i had to flare the guards to fit) And 15" by 7 SSR reverse mesh on the back (offset around +10).

I hope to get a pair of 15" TE37's and a Pair of wider (8-9) longchamps http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

cheers for the replys guys. sounds like alot of you are using 14" or 15" wheels.
At the moment im looking at 13"(round, not wide) Do you think that 13" is to small?? I suppose it depends on what tires i use ey!

i think you mean make your track wider not wheel base
anyway

im running a pair of 15x7 precedeos on the front with a 0 or slightly negative offset.
on the rear i have a pair of 16x8 volk/rays racing mesh with a +25 offset

came off a 180sx
16"x7" in front, 16"x8" in the back, offset is the same as a silvia, so obviously you have to modify your hubs or get spacers (doin a HCR32 brake upgrade anyways, so I'm not really fussed).

i've got 15" mags (SSR reversh mesh look-a-likes) currently on the car with a bit of dish and the tread is 195/50/15 's (standard tyres are 185/70/13's from memory. i was looking at mags from a r31 which were something like 225/50/15's http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif but these didnt have any dish to them so would have had to get cby flares and massive spacers! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif would have looked awesome but... once you got dish you wont go back! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/cool.gif

dori_86
30th July 2005, 01:40 PM
hey i know what you mean when i first bought my my mags (over 2 years ago) not many people had or were selling dished rims, so i had to get mine from a drift shop in SA called D1 Garage.

i don't think u can classify them as rice tho as most of the time they're an improvement to the car not a ugly addition

Dori_86 tho's rims are HOT!! they must of cost a fair bit!? Where'd you get the kit what brand etc? thinkin i might get rid of my shitty JBlood kit and invest in one of those? do you reckon you could modify it to fit an 86?

I have longchamp XR4's 15x6.5" +20 15x7" +15 and set of BBS 3 piece wheels 15x7" +22. Only wheels I like on the sprinter are the work meisters, equip "gold star fish looking ones, and the 4 work equip 4 spokes.

funkymonkey
30th July 2005, 07:54 PM
what I call functional on an early 80's car is steel/magnesium hubs with extended lips (giving it a "deep dish" look I guess).

as for current model rims that make me look twice... SSR professors (I guess they're similar to work meisters).

i ran 15 x 7 +12mm on my sprinter they sat in the guards a bit too much for my liking but didn't need spacers to fit or anything like that. 15 x 8 -4 would fit awesome but car a bit low you would need to roll your guards at least.

I have just finished fitting my new set of 15x8 performance superlites. Awesome looking rims and look almost too chunky for a sprinter, especially on the front. They are -4 offset, and with 205/50/15 tyres all 4 guards needed to be lipped.

Has anyone been having trouble bump steer/tramlining from running greatly increased track width? I find the effect noticable but it is greatly outwieghed by the benefits associated with wider track (works out to be about a 3 inch increase front and rear!). Also, the car seems to be less willing to self-straighten itself coming out of a corner.

Those wheels are hot on the AE71! Love that track.

I have a pair of SSR Reverse Mesh 15x7" +10 offset which I run on the front. I'm unsure how they'd fit using stock ae86 suspension. I have adjustable lower control arms so I can just wind em out http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

I also have a set of MA61 wheels. 14x7" +8 offset. With 5mm spacers on the rear they sit dead on the guards.

I think about $920 mate. If you're in Brisbane try a place called Ace, they were the cheapest I found by far. Btw, the tyres I got rock! Hancook Ventus K104, they are a huge surprise. Extremely grippy tyre from a brand most people frown upon. These tyres feature on both the 1000hp supercharged drift ute, and they new Monaro run by the same people.

if you just want heaps of dish in a 13 you can get 13 x 7 -7mm offset superlites
or 13x 8's offset unknown. i just ordered a set new for $750 which is big dollars for thirteens but they have heaps of dish they look like saucepans with tyres on em http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

you can get them in four colours white silver gold and black and they can put a steel insert where you wheel nuts go for additional strengthening (recommended for track use)

hope this helps

Hey 20v AE86, Yeh i went and looked at those here in adelaide(where there made).Nice wheels!! But i was thinkin that 13" inch could be to small. Cos once you put a tyre on it may have to much roll? Unless you go a little smaller tyre and stretch it, but that would look a bit funny. Dunno i could be wrong. What size tyres do you have on yours?

Rear - 15 x 7 0 offset

Race Wheels are black Volk TE37s

Drift Wheels are either my Longchamp XR4s as above or my SSR Mk IIs
