RobertoX
9th August 2005, 12:04 AM
AJPS - all japanese panels and spares

is releasing a spring range of its own

i have been selling springs for a fair while now and have paid keen attention to what rates and sizes people request

we will be concerntrating on rates and sizes most people want, but most manufacturers dont have off the shelf

springs will be available off the shelf for most common imports
if not in stock 2 week lead time in most cases

65mm id coilover springs will be on the shelf as well

if you guys would like to place orders or ask questions this is the thread to do it in

prices for forums members should be pretty good and i can organise cheap freight

the springs will be metallic pink powder coat and a high quality finish

each spring will be rate tested before packaging

expect these springs to start in 1-2 weeks

we are currently making coilovers so far we have 10 definites

if you need springs asap, i can supply off the shelf brands any thing for kings, eibach, to trd

thanks guys

i have them in my ke70 with 4.2kg/mm springs, works well
"works well" means its good for drift or it handles well? Any pics of said ke70? Just interested in spring length for ride height etc.

RobertoX
15th August 2005, 05:40 PM
no worries guys, all feedback from the prototypes have been good

ae71 neo - HANDLES good, it is a tad soft for high speed drift, it is perfect for wet slides 2nd gear u know? im a bit fussy, some of my mates think it handles amazingly, the bushes were definitely good, feedback and response was improved a great deal!

having said that, with the rear sway bar, it is VERY driftable and exhibits VERY little body roll

i depends how you drive really, but it grips well in the hills, the front is a bit soft but the rear is perfect providing you get the right height
about 220mm for the rear springs
let me know when you would like to order thanks

ae71neo
15th August 2005, 05:54 PM
What were you using in the front?

RobertoX
15th August 2005, 06:01 PM
4.8kg/mm with stock shocks

bit soft and a bit high

i would go lower stiffer, but i am making coilovers very soon
and if i went stiffer making front shocks feel worse, bump steer and springs wouldnt be captive, it is well balanced with the rear tho

ae71neo
15th August 2005, 06:08 PM
So do you reckon its worth going coilovers, or just going short stroke shocks and good springs for the front? ATM are you using standard KE70 struts? Because my AE71 struts are skinnier then AE86 i think. 45mm compared to 51mm or something like that.

RobertoX
16th August 2005, 01:10 PM
im using ke70 struts at present but i have some ae86 strut being cut down as we speak. i chose to use ae86 struts so i can run rca's and power steering arms off the shelf, as well as more sleeves and shocks fitting

ill be running jdm brakes etc, so may as well

i am going to run coilover on ae86 strut for those reasons

i want coilover so i can lower my car while still remaining captivity of the spring

i recommend getting coilovers on ae86 for a much wider range of options

i have some spare ae86 struts here too...

thanks

let me know what you would like

u got my pm on the rear set up?

ae71neo
16th August 2005, 07:41 PM

you know i am also keen mate...

planning to make a move sometime next week

interested in your coil-overs for the front, t3 camber tops, want my car to be about 120mm off the ground at the lowest point, and very stiff...
and whatever you recomend in the rear.
I do mountain runs 3 times a week, so i want to take out all bodyroll and make it handle much better, not nessessarily push into drift on every corner, but i want to have a go at drift down the track...

Talk to you about it later

RobertoX
24th October 2005, 12:26 PM
Just put through 3 more orders thanks to RXbenny, 20vke70 and wolfwood.

If you are doing mountain runs i really recommend using swaybars. You sound like you want no bodyroll but for it to be good in the hills. to maintain as much traction as possible with a stiff car, i recommend using larger diameter swaybars rather than cranking up the spring rate as the car can skip and etc.

I can set the height thats fine, and t3 camber tops are normally in stock.

if you want to drift also go for a 6.5-7kg/mm front spring with a 24mm swaybar. and about 5kg/mm in the rear with an 18mm swaybar or something along those lines. I have felt those rates in a heavily stripped car and it felt managable, and bugger all body roll. Please pm me when you are looking to order thanks mate

as per previous pms i will also supply bushes and steering components to make sure you get the most out of you suspension investment

No worries. the springs are not power coated as no powder coater in the country carries pink powder coat! They are sprayed professionally in a booth with 2 pack paint with bumper additive (it is supposed to move with the spring so it doesnt crack). The "cracking" u might be seeing is where the springs have been moved and sat down while still slightly wet. No problem with the paint. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

I can do the spring in another colour but it will cost slightly more as everything is set up for pink and also pink is the colour i have chosen to represent my company's springs, so it is an image also. I can do them in a straight black if you like, but its not like you see it when it is under the car!

yeah thats cool mate, if you would like to place an order please pm me thanks
