I will do the conversion myself with the help of a few friends. So costs will be kept down with regards to the fabrication, but as for engineering the conversion, I have an engineer working on the details now. You know, relevant brake upgrades etc.

The stock output of the F20C1 is 179Kw at 8600rpm. Can't remember the torque figure but it is decent.

Should be heaps of fun. I just have to get my S13 running so that I can drive it while my hachi is off the road. (Pooey Nissan, but I got it cheap!)

S2000 halfcut contains the most potent 2L n/a engine in the world. Sounds like a good project, can't wait to see the results.

I gotta add another $500 to my tally as I just picked up a S13 front cradle this morning .. front suspension, control arms, engine crossmember, steering rack and column and all the bits and pieces.. which we'll be putting into the AE86 (as an experiment anyways).

with the s2000 is that a lot of work that needs to be done? what does it cost to complete this little conversion?

JDM86
6th September 2005, 09:48 PM
The conversion wont cost too much, as I have a team of experts (myself included), working on the project. Seriously, the hardest part is making the trans tunnel large enough to accomodate the 6 speed. The thing is sooooo tall. The bell-housing is huge. But I'm not too concerned. As for cost, it doesn't matter how much it costs, the beast is going in! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well, If anyone asked me "how much money would you spend on a rusty early 80's japanese car running a p00 1.6 l SOHC, drum brakes and shite interior", I would answer in the area of 50 cents maximum http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/dry.gif , but for some reason i have spent an amount far exeeding this http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ph34r.gif , an the purchases just keep going!!!
