Well, it happened sooner than expected but she has just driven out of my driveway for the last time in my life earlier tonight - I didn't even have time to give her a final kiss. May the new owner enjoy her and take her to even higher grounds ...

It's been great being around this AE86 forum - I'll probably still linger around and (as usual) root for all the AE86 drivers out at Drift Days, in particular Simon AE86 and MR2drift ...

It is a sad day for me - many happy memories in the AE86 but unfortunately too many cars to devote my time towards. At least I got this AE86 up to a stage where I have had no regrets and enjoyed the trip along the way, learning important and valuable lessons plus making lots of friends and acquaintences. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
Anyway, as I console my numb self tonight, here are some last pics of the car before she went:

For obvious privacy reasons and out of respect of the new owner, his whereabouts and name shall remain unknown until he decides to reveal his identity ... I will just say that it will be leaving sunny Queensland and going interstate.

I am also glad I did not get any tyre kickers too for that matter and was fortunate to sell to the first interested party.

Oh, and some may gasp but here's a pic of my new project:

P.S. This is not to discount that I may one day return to the forums with another AE86 ... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

must be heartbreaking to see a car like that go, Im still at the cross roads into deciding to sell mine, however it will be too hard. Congrats to the new owner, and best of luck with the starlet, thank god it is a toyota and not a nissan.

Also may I ask, did you sell it with the CF bonnet, if not would you be interested in selling it?

Cheers

You mean these carbs?

http://users.tpg.com.au/adsl6ii7/Weber.JPG

Yes ... I bought full setup of twin Weber 45's for $300 ...

Unfortunately I chickened out given the advantages of EFI - the 45's ended up in a Ford Escort RS2000 and the manifold in my mate's AE86 which he too, sold last week as well ...

I am sad to see the car go however I wish the new owner luck - the car will stand out in its new place however out of respect for the new owner, I shall let 'him' introduce himself on these forums should he ever return to them.

Unfortunately everything on the car went with it - and I will be withholding sale of my AE86 parts as my mechanic is already mentioning another AE86 project that is still in the planning stage (if it gets up at all).

I'll still be hanging around - I still believe that the AE86 is a great car which outhandles most cars if set up correctly. I think I will enjoy the turbo bug for a while before I come back to my senses and put handling ahead of straight line grunt.

Well ... looks like I've gone the opposite of Speedcore, from AE86 to Starlet instead of the other way around ... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

Anyway, even if I don't own one - I'll still be watching them out at drift comps or seeing them in the workshop in one form or another.

I had a great time oogling at MR2drift's newly ported 4AG head the other night ... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ph34r.gif
