dude, do it yourself n get the guy to come to your house - think yellow pages....

make sure you are installing reclining buckets as they no longer will mod plate fixed ones.

from what i can gather the rules are that no fixed seats in 2 door four seaters like sprinters unless you remove your rear seats and get it registered as a 2 seater

do you know why?...access can still be gained to the rear seats via the passengers side so i dont know why they'd change the law

i dont' think it's the getting in that they'de be worried about! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

i'm guessing it's incase of a crash/emergency

hence why the provision existed for fixed back seats to be installed on one side of the vehicle...emergency services still have access via the other side. Why would they change it? is there data to show accidents involving fixed back bucket seats cause more fatalities http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

1 fixed back bucket = 1 exit
0 fixed back bucket = 2 exits

Considering that in emergencies people need to be cut out because the door has jambed shut, it makes sense that if you have 2 possible exits you have better chance of not being trapped.

Unless you can arrange your accidents so that the drivers door is always the one that gets crunched? http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

You were all somewhat correct.

the law used to allow fixed buckets in a (regestered as a) 2 seater, but as of about 1/1/05 engineers were no longer allowed to certify them. the reasons why, i have no idea. so dont go to all the effort of installing them cause they wont b able to do it!

yeah, most of the time you need a welder but you might get lucky (paris hilton style;)) and find some honda rails that fit...
