i have a 20v silvertop in my sprinter and i have noticed a squell when sitting at lights or stopped.
i only just replaced rear main seal, clutch, throw out bearing because of oil leaking into bell housing from old rear main seal.
im not sure if this has anything to do with my problem because the noise does not go away when i engage the clutch.
ive stuck my head down in the engine bay and cant figure out where the noise is coming from.
any ideas

This might be a stupid question, but are you sure its not just fanbelt squeal?

lol, wd40 is a lubricant dude, helps it slide, you need something like "belt grip" <- there is actually such a product, to help at all. However it sounds as if you just need to tighten your belts up. Or at least the belt that is making the noise.

Yeah, if your belts are squealing, the last thing you want to do is spray them with WD40. There is some antisqueal spray, but best thing is to tighten the belt, or buy a new belt.
