POCSORBAN!

i used to suffer from that problem... what i did to get around it was bang the top of your dash with your palm, few combo's would get it working

Or, rather than beating the crap out of an already old and brittle dash, you could fix it http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif New switch, or a little contact cleaner into the switch (just let it dry out before pumping current through it again) If its not the switch, it might be a relay, easy fix.

Another update:
Well yesterday saw the 86 get put up ont he big car hoist thingy or whatever it is to have a look underneath her.
Two things which will need to be fixed:
few fuel lines - looking a bit worn
clutch line - heatsheid stuff is worn near exhaust.
tiny bit of rust near the fuel door thing... get that touched up soon
Will be getting a new bracket made up so it is not near the exhaust, also the fuel lines will be fixed up too.

they run a differnt strut set up (not stub axle), would need to be adapted to the ae86 strut and they need to be redrilled (they are 5x114.3) good pads are hard to get a hold of, calipers are still single piston and brackets would need to be made up, if you are dead keen on larger brakes, go s13 front end with sr20det rotors (joel ae86 has this set up)

Anyways after moving a few things out of the way to remove the Air Compressor it finally came off the car and shit she was a heavy bitch. Also the bracket thingy too.

Yeah, Its hard to get a big surface right when your using pressure packs. You need to slow it down a bit, to let the paint "flow" more, but then the danger is getting runs. You could try cutting it back with some polish, but it will probably cut through to white on the ridges.

thanks guys!...
i still need to organise the car to get the bonnet/sides sprayed, then lil rust spots fixed and the white all buffed back and fixed up.
Hopeing to get front brakes done next, then a t-18 with ra40 4.1 centre. new front shocks and yeah should be it for a big, then rebuilt gearbox or something.
Also a pair of reclinable bucket seats, maybe rear interior removed and engineered as a two seater.

If you get it engineered as a 2 seater, then you can buy non-reclinables, which as a bonus are CAMS approved!! (which might be important for drift in a year or two)
Wally
2nd November 2005, 07:20 PM
thanks craig, might leave it as a 4seater, just take the back out though sometimes... ill have to decide if i want the ful buckets, or still have the option of transporting people with the reclinbable http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

It won't fit cause you don't have JDM brackets
you will need to use zipties...

Surprisingly they are preety strong to. My mate had a old 1984 Pajero and he was to pov to get bolts to go through the engine mounts so he just use zippy ties instead http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/7/5/4/536981.jpg Although, i wouldn't recommend it http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

why is it so f***ing shiny? lol
zip ties works. my zenki ones are on zip ties at the moment haha
if zip ties fail, there's nothing sticky tape can't fix.
but hey, we're mech engineers. if it won't bolt on, MAKE IT FIT http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

OMG OMG!...
guess what, its a fkn update holy shitbags!...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyways, today after getting home from work, i saw her sitting in the driveway looking at me, and that look she gave me said, what are you trying to do. She knew she was up for sale and tried to talk me out of it. Which worked.
She is now off the market, and will be off the road soon.
Big plans are coming her way, as now i am debt free (well besides the girlfriend).
So whats on the cards?... Well this is going to take a long time, money, sweat and tears to pull it off, but im hoping by christmas.
Ok here we go:
Engine transplant:
Silvertop or Blacktop 20V (leabing towards the b/t though)
All the gear needed for that
Exhaust:
Brand spankers, replacing current system.
LSD:
Thinking of the Kaaz setup.
Rear-end:
Friggen get my hands on a t-series
Gearbox:
Possibly re-built T50
Exterior:
Spray white (thinking of panda, but yeah i dunno)
j-blood style kit
redlines
jdm headlights for my jdm grill
Rims:
some rims
Suspension:
not 100% sure what yet
New seats
Front brakes: something, ra60 prob. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
So yeah, missing a bit, but you get the idea, im going to be broke, and i prob wont be able to get her finished.
If ANYONE knows ANYONE that can help, as in, deals or pitch in a helping hand i would appriecate it alot.
All helping hands will be rewarded. In some way or another.
By the way the Engine im running now is still up for grabs, cover the cost of my NA engine and stuff that would be sweet http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
Now time to save.
Cheers guys,
Chris.
