Hey guys,

well instead of making 3 threads.

First up we have Brakes.

The spritner needs a brake upgrade for Engineering Certificate.

What is the easiest way/conversion to get for a ADM Sprinter?...
Any information on this would be great.

Next question will be a new diff/stronger one.

Which Diff can i get which is stronger than the stock one, and fits to a sprinter? Also would be looking at a rear disc setup i suppose too...

Next is a gearbox...
A mate said a supra gearbox or something.. im not sure. its just got the stock one in at the moment, and i dont think its going to last to long...

Any information, to point me in the rignt direction for the above would be great and must appreciated...

Cheers,
Chris.

ive got s13 sr20 brakes on front custom setup made by Steve from A-Spec performance. gearbox try a t50 never had a problem behind 4age and 4agze motors. in japan i think truenos came out with a disc brake rear end any way there is a sprinter disc brake rear end with lsd bolts straight in but $$$$$ and hard to find. Also got a toyota t18 rear end with a trd 2way lsd only drum brakes but they lock the handbrake ten times as good as my disc rear end

i have a w57 ra60 g/box in mine & have never had a problem. Custom bellhousing was supplied by Bill Sherwood but you can also try Dellows..theres also a place down the coast you can get them.

sr20 & series 5 Rx7 brakes are popular upgrades

i picked up my t series disc brake rear end for $1800 with a cusco 1.5 way. A hilux conversion would be more desirable (imo) if you're pushing a few hp

i have some s5 rx7 brakes at the moment not fitted, just wondering if i could get an easier setup maybe?

i have driven on the track with a set of brembo brakes i believe they were twin piston, and had vented rotors (jap spec sprinter) i found they had less brake fade than the s13 brakes

s5 would be my pick for a 4agte...the hardest part is fabricating a bracket to mount the calipers...if you can find someone to do that then its no more difficult than any other conversion

you could always cough up the dough for brembo or something similiar

i've also heard of celica, supra & pug upgrades...its been a while since i've read the info but if you search on toymods there's pages of info

Thats what I'm trying to get my head around now http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wacko.gif . Because the fact is that the brake upgrade is $2000 for the engineers certificate http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ohmy.gif .....so if get caught with brake upgrade.....sticker is on http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ohmy.gif .....and its go get a certificate

mmmmmmmmmm what to do??????

Brakes: The easiest setup would be to go for JDM disks and calipers. Same 234mm dia but they're 18mm thick instead of standard 11mm and vented instead of solid. Straight bolt in.

If you're looking for something meatier... they make adaptor plates off the shelf in Japan for rx7 calipers used with civic EG6 rotors.

Or you could also do a supra-strut conversion. Or a Cressida disk conversion. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I went through this research as well but wanted something a little different. My setup's a secret http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Diff: As stated, JDM AE-86 T series diff would be the easiest. If you plan on taking this path though, try to get the later Kouki version diff. They have slightly larger axles.

Gearbox: The supra boxes you're refering to are the W5* series boxes. They also come in other cars like early celicas, crown, soarers. Just make sure you don't get a W50 box. They're a different box altogether. You'll need an adaptor bellhousing, new clutch and a custom tailshaft.

Engineers cert depends on the stuff your getting engineered, my R32 with 17's RB25DET converion, GTR brakes, etc etc cost bout 500 to engineer, but a mate with a st162 celica with st165 brakes, 17's and a bonnet scoupe cost 100ish.

all relative
