TODA 288 intake camshaft 8.5mm lift
TODA 288 exhaust camshaft 8.5mm lift
TODA heavy duty valve springs
TRD 0.8mm Head Gasket

Will the above parts fit in my 20valve?
What benefits will each have?
Will it still be semi streetable?!

My 20v has long trumpets, long extractors, haltech e6x ecu.

thanks in advance http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

I could be wrong but i think that you have to do something do be able to use the cams as the 20v have variable cam timing.
Are the TODA heavy duty springs for the 20v or 16v?

Are they to suit the 20v?

More power

With long trumpets and long extractors they kinda balance each other out, so yeah

One word or advice, watch the E6X, I dont thingk they have the resolution to run big cams, it maybe ping city and then...

Are the cams actually different for the 20v and 16v?

Well, consider this, the cams run the valves. THe 20valve has 20 valves, and the 16 valve has ....wait for it....16 valves. Now i have never seen 16v and 20v cams side by side, but i would assume that the cam lobe layout is different.

yeh i'm pretty sure you can't use either cams..the ex cam runs the dizzy at the back of the head, unlike the gear at the front of the cam..

you can use the head gasket though http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif..it will bump up compression maybe .4 bar?

First of all which 20v engine is it going to go in? There are considerable differences in both silver top and black top heads. Cylinder squish areas are different. Valve springs are different. cam lobe centre offset is different. valve lift is also different even the head castings(internally) are different. Black top intake cam also have extra 5 degrees of overlap on sliver top.

Toda 20v cams are based on ae101 silver top design with cam centre at 125 degrees, they are usable with ae111, but you will need adjustable cam pulleys to dial in the cams. with adj cam pulleys you will also lose VVT which is what would be expected using such large duration cams. Toda recommends max of 272 degrees with vvt system.

Im using Toda 288 9.0mm lift cams in my black top now and have had these cams in my previous silver top.

Oh BTW, the cams cant be used with the factory 20v ECU. So invest in a high resolution aftermarket ECU to run in alpha-n mode as there is very low vaccum ( about 5-8 inch of mercury at idle) with these cams whne running quad to air. Cheap map sensing ECUs like Microtech wont cut it, so invest in something Like a Motec, Autronic or the latest Haltech E8!

Oh, I forgot using TRD 0.8mm haed gasket will increase your compression ratio slightly. This in effect will retard both intake and exhaust cams slightly. So ajustable cam pulley are strongly recommended if you want to get the most out of this setup.

are cam pulleys for 16v n 20v the same??

Exhaust cam yes, but the top mark is 1 tooth retarded.
