Sounds like a good engine for a turbo conversion.

What cpmression are you currently running?

BouNCE-86
27th October 2005, 03:26 PM
I wouldnt have a clue what compression the engine is running???

How do you find that out?

Also, the pictures were taken before the auto thermofan was put in place...... :y:

Turbo's are just not my thing, to much messin around.....

Ill be bolting on a supercharger very soon.....

The thing pulls great from 4k and onwards, but really needs the charger to go up until then..........!

Nice work,

I would recomend you to get a turbocharger rather than a supercharger, i understand your concern of the low end lack of power, but it would be much simpler if you put on a turbo, probably cheaper aswell and will have more potential in HP.

Keep the pics coming! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

BouNCE-86

Pics should be uploaded during the weekend.....

I always thought that the supercharger would be simplier, as to just bolt it on and hook up a pulley system......

But with the turbo, you would have to run oil and water lines, and also, you would have the lag, unlike the constant torque of the charger.....?

yeah but super chargers like u said run on a belt system(which is work in its self) a charger has no midrange compared to a turbos im tellen ya if ya want a good fun engine wack a snail on the side as ull only enjoy it more

sweet, very clean.... as for the charger fight id recommend turbo, it just feels so much better drivin a turboed 4ag over a supercharged 1. Think of y most people go the snail option over the super charger? and its not to be like everyone else although some people prob do. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
any way nice ride only critisism is the wheels (need mesh/dish) http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

having owned 4ac, 4age, 4agze & 4agte sprinters im going against the trend and reccomend a sc over a snail...more fun to be had imo

you using it for street, sprint or drift?

fair call jack http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

hard tuned n/a or sc....turbo's are boring http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

power delivery is more even, predictable & usable. Unless you want to drift...then i can see the advantages of a snail

BouNCE-86

I always wanted a S/C, although all the turbo cars i have been in are quite fun, i love the power curve on the S/C and also im not to keen on the unpredictability of a turbo as previously mentioned.......

I have BIG plans for the future.....

First is a change of rims, maybe a kit, colour change, then onto the engine.........

Thanks guys.........! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

There is still, WAAAY more to come yet, so stay tuned......

Thanks for the comments guys! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

# UPDATE:

A week or so ago (the afternoon before the Brisbane Hachi cruise) i was rear - ended by one of my most favourite cars - A COMMODORE!..... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

Damaged report is just over $1,600.00............ Luckily it is still drivable, and the damage is mainly to the rear panels, bumper + supports, and also, unfortunately the rear quarter seals.......

The driver was unlicensed, and it wasnt even her own car!...... After a promising to pay for the damage, two weeks go by and no reply........OH WELL.......!

In good news, I got new rear rims - most sort after 15 x 8"..... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I also have new 195/50R15 tyres all round...... After the wheel alignment, it turns out i had massive toe in, but now tis fixed, and the steering shudder is gone, it turns like a feather, and sticks to the road like you know what to a blanket!........ http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

BouNCE-86

Also, while hammering in the lip on the rear guards, found out that one side had previously had a bit of damaged, and had a crease that had been bogged over. The whole bottom of the guard will need to be replaced, luckily the other one was in mint condition!.......http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

And with three people in the car, and two rims w/ tyres @ 170kph it still doesnt rub!........http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

+ the tyres dropped my car by approx. another inch lower!....... Now i find it hard to get up drivewayz...........

PICS COMING A.S.A.P...... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
