Thought I would jump on the KE70 bandwagon. Hachi's are so last season.

The car is a "Cat Piss" yellow 84 base model
The 4K has been ditched for the Bigport 4AGE from my AE86
HKS "Death Mushroom" air filter
Stainless 4 into 1 extractors
2" exhaust with fart cannon
Makita 1 way adjustable suspension
T-18 diff with 4.1 ratio and Cusco LSD centre
AW11 steering wheel
Autometer tacho
ECU chillin on the passenger floor
BMW 325i rear wing

Pics are a bit old, I'll take more when I can be arsed.

Yup there were two shapes of the KE70...early model (Pre 1984) which has a square front end, and a late model (1984-85), which has a 'shovel nose' front end and is identical in shape as the AE71.

im still uncertain bout whats the deal with the ke's and the ae's.
i know the older ones have flat lights, and the newer ones have lights that angle back.

mines a Ae and its got a 4ac, and i was told that ke's only have 4kc's
but ive seen ke's before with 4ac's standard on the plate

Jason
1st November 2005, 05:11 PM
Ke70's have both square front and shovel with 4k's

Ae71's have 4ac all shovel nose

unless if im mistaken, that is actually a TE71 which is a JDM only corolla.

They had pretty decent engine to, made something like 86 kW i think.

I could be wrong though http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Jason

talk to an importer....

Bustin_86
1st November 2005, 07:47 PM
id love to own a TE71

still have that tough stance of the brick-wall KE70's, yet the round lights eem to lend it a bit of sleekness as well.

Correct...it is a JAP TE71.

I am unsure as to which model engine they came with, obviously a T series engine. 2T-C?

The round headlights and chrome bumpers look very tough.

dori_86
2nd November 2005, 04:16 PM
but the question is does any1 think it could be done with a KE70?

Joel-AE86
2nd November 2005, 05:20 PM
^^^It basically is a KE70...with different engine, chrome bumpers and a few other things. It has the same chassis and panels.

Bustin_86
2nd November 2005, 05:22 PM
id say it could be...why not just use some round motorbike style lights and make you own effect ( this should work on the old school "barn door" front ke70's)? and you could get your bumper chromed pretty easy....so id say it would definetly be possible, whether you chose to get a front end off of a te71 trhough an importer and fit it up, or if you just improvised. Just my two cents.

2nd November 2005, 05:25 PM

Medicine_Man

The twin lights also came out on malaysian/NZ KE70's, probably lots of other places around the world too and yes, you can fit them to a ke70, problem is sourcing a set..

yeah te71 lights are different and they require different fenders if you want to do it properly. but...the actual light units (sealed beam) are cheap as hell, but the surrounds are like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....
