Picked up an 86 JDM Levin this arvo and the fuel gauge isn't working...
does anyone know if this is a common problem and how hard is it to fix???

Instructions on how to fix it wouldn't go astray either... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif:P

my wires on the fuel sender broke at very close to the black plastic cover = wire left from the fuel sender cover is very very short that I cannot reconnect it back to the other end of wires. any trick can help reconnect them?

Mine didn't work either Carley. Take it to an Auto electrician.
They fixed mine.

Is your fuel lights always on? Mine is? My gauge rarly goes over half way. It never reads properly. Would mine be the same deal? Check the wiring?

Im not liking the fact that there's so many instances of fuel guage problems with this type of car... toyota must have been running low on budget http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif hehe
