Bad Smell

Everytime I drive my car it lets of a really foul smell (Nothing like rotten eggs) and is really strong. Any ideas? (4AGE 16V)

oil weeping onto brakes in the rear has a pretty bad smell
burnt clutch smells horrid too

even premium... sometimes its a shit/stale batch.. u often notice it in city traffic when stopped at the lights ect..

but who knows.. could be anything...

sometimes the gasket goes on the plate that hold the axles in and the oil weeps out onto the brakes

My Mum's car gets the same rotten smell and she's got a 2003 Mazda 323. But it's not everyday it's only sometimes. I reckon something crawled up the exhuast got cooked and stuck.

aaaaahhhhhhh ha ha ha..take it for a cane..blow the blockage out..

on topic..have you got your oil breather pipe connected to the inlet manifold? only reason i asked is cos i had it just sorta hanging down at the back of my motor, and it blew onto my exhaust every now and again, not a nice smell.. or it could be your rear extension seal of your g/box leaking onto the tail shaft, then spraying on the exhaust.. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

what does it smell like exactly?

after my brother's old lancer got fixed after an unplanned trip through some trees and fences it stunk like crazy. we all thought it was some glue or something that was used but it stayed around for aaages.

until...one day we went to change the tyre and underneath the spare was a dead mouse rotting in there with all green shit around it.

after that the smell was gone.

on my dad's AU i bit of plastic fell onto the exhaust some how so after some trips you can smell burning plastic

It does come from out the exhuast becuase the smell is only there when the car is running. I'll try to describ it better after I take it for another drive.
