.wolfwood
15th December 2005, 08:02 PM
not sure i i was talking to you ae71neo

most work was done by previous owner.

it was all dodgy so fixed it up myself with the help of ken streeter.

lol when i got car so many arts from motor missing. didnt even have a thermostat? ( what eva the part that helps kool the water down is called)

ae71neo
15th December 2005, 08:09 PM
Oh ok, cos the guy who i was talking was saying that the previous owner did the work and thought it was dodgey or something. Looking at the engine bay im pretty sure it was this car!

i just wanna let the owner of the blue 86 that the part that keeps the water cool is the "radiator" and he has done the right thing by removing the thermostat so it helps the temp stay even cooler. what other parts where missing?

JDM_KING
15th December 2005, 11:09 PM
what did streeter do to it because every 2nd person i've spoken to has said that streeter has lied to them or done a job for some one they know real slow and the finish product was s#!7

the thermostat is there to help the engine warm up quicker and keep it at optimum temp, not too cold, as like i think 90% of engine wear is caused from cold starts... y do u think taxis last soo long they are run all the time without turnin off so they get nearly a million kays out of a motor, just cause it isnt started and stopped half as much as the average car

chasingpandas
16th December 2005, 12:29 AM
OBE353 has a point there. Does it have a thermostat back in it now?

.wolfwood
16th December 2005, 01:21 AM

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 12:50 AM
hmm hey all bit of an update, i got a new shell to put all my shit into and along the way i found a few problems. firstly that the firewall in my new shell is smashed in cuz it had a 3sgte in it before. also the dude was going to instal a cuztom peddle box and the brackets that he made covered the hoels were the master clutch and brack booster when so it took some time to sort that out but its sorta fixed still a bit of work to go yet.

also one of the bolts for the rear swaybar mount has had the nut broken of the inside on the chassie rail so i had to cut the bolt of and weld the bracket on, no biggy.

here are some pics as i was swapping it ova with a mate. btw this car had nothing it in my brkae lines no fuel lines no suspention nothing at all so its been a big job and has taken about 20hours so far.

here are some pics, the set up

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 12:50 AM
starting to remove the motor

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 12:51 AM
when i got it out, wasnt really to hard

its a little dirty lol

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 12:52 AM
after i finsiehd putting in the front suspention, it cam with sigma controll arms

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 12:54 AM
a pic when i got the motor in

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 12:56 AM
just sorta runnig the loom through, cbf putting it all nicely as i had to cut all the shit ass brackets out that you can see in the pic.

.wolfwood
17th March 2006, 01:02 AM
so the 2 main things that i have to fix and everything will be able tp gt put back together is.

were the shifter comes through the floor that hole has been cut back so i will ahve to make something up to cover the hole to make it look a bit nicer and also the part that the clutch and brake peddle bot onto at the top is missing so i have to unspotweld the little pannel part out of my old car and weld it into my new car, after that i can put it all back together and wire it all up. the only thing that would be done as i dont really know how to do it will be the surge tank and fuel pump. will ahve to get someone to do that for me. ahh also forgot about interkooler piping and zorst but the interkooler piping i can do my self so its all good.

oh yeah last thing i almost forgot about i have to cut the stock radiator brackets at the bottom of the car to fit my bigger radiator in there, but once again nothing to hard.

will psot more pics up later one all is done and get my turbo manafold and that on.

driftae86
17th March 2006, 02:59 AM
