hey guys finally getting around to putting my car in here! the ke70 has been built up using all the old parts from my sprinter which met its untimely end with a power pole late last year. all proudly built in the back yard same as my sprinter. specs are as follows

engine

silver top 20v
local t-50 (still holding on!)
stock 20v clutch (brand new form 1/2 cut, Score!!)
2 1/4 exhaust with fully sick cannon

suspension

AJPS 6kg front springs and koni shocks
AJPS 4.5kg rear springs and koni shocks
whiteline panhard rod
whiteline 4 way adjustable 20mm rear swaybar
whiteline front strut brace

others

T18 diff fitted with KAAZ 2 way centre
Bride fixed back seat
Interior stripped all sound deadening removed and floor painted charcoal same as wheels
super cheap cheapest nastiest steering wheel that my gf bought me like 6 years ago, i've had it on all my cars

wheels

at the moment 13x7 - 7mm superlites
also have 2 15x6 1/2 unknowns (white 6 spoke) thanks Josh! sold now!!
2 15 x 7 +12mm superlites
just need 2 more 15's

all front suspension and subframe etc was lifted from my sprinter, so don't ask dave if he's making ke springs!

so yeah thats my car hope you like i do!

Brilliant!!!! I love it!!!! Have owned a couple of KE70's in the past and always wanted to build one...that looks rad..

Must go hard with a 20v. They're light as f*#k...

The superlites look way good....where'd you get 'em/who stocks them?

Cheers

Gilly
2nd February 2006, 05:12 AM
muffler scrapes all the time, Alan!!

Arjay, any decent mag shop should be able get superlites, performance wheels makes them and they are an australian company, i'm currently selling mine but looks like i already have a buyer.

Gilly
2nd February 2006, 08:47 AM
beige all the way..... never painting it, cheaper just to buy one another colour!!!! might have a buyer for my wheels so hopefully it should be wearing size 15 shoes soon, namely 15x7 +12mm gold superlites on the front, and 15x6 1/2 unknown white 6 spokes on the rear, (though they will probably get the spray can black treatment)

2nd February 2006, 04:02 PM
one suggestion for that pure old skool jap look would be to mount the side mirror on the front quater!

looks rad either way

driftae86
2nd February 2006, 07:18 PM

ae71neo
2nd February 2006, 07:23 PM

Gilly
3rd February 2006, 05:28 AM
thanks for the feed back guy's, rhty that boss kit is out of my old sprinter and it is a sprinter boss kit as far as i know unless ae82 are the same part number. monkeymajik i have no idea what style bride it is, it is very tight and i'm not a big bloke!

Gilly
4th February 2006, 01:15 PM
looks like superlites are sold so 15's going on soon, just a bit worried though everyone loves the oldskool look with the dished superlites, concerned its going to look like a bit of a hack with mismatched 15's.... what d oyou giuys think? some day's i love the little wheels other days i don't...

slydar
4th February 2006, 01:59 PM
i like the superlites. the gap above the guard means the car doesnt appear slammed to the constabulory even though its low. anyway thats my guess. i can for sure see myself getting one of these sooner or later and i'd definatelly run it on 13s.

ArJay
4th February 2006, 02:49 PM
Yeah I'm with slydar...the dished 13s look waaaaaay tuff.

cheers

Gilly
5th February 2006, 03:49 PM
yeah i should do that, post pics with 15's as well then i can get a vote happening!!!! even though my head still wants to move up to 15's everyone loves the 13's!!!

Dxaqta
11th February 2006, 03:42 PM
post them please the suspense is killing me

Gilly
11th February 2006, 03:48 PM
i'm negotiating with a mate to try and buy my 15 superlites back off him i don't want miss matched rims, i'll try to get some photo's in the next couple of days with the 15's i got at home.

Gilly
22nd February 2006, 08:51 AM
story so far in relation to wheels, sold my dished 13's (mistake?) went to get my old 15 superlites repaired surprise surprise can't fix em, now i have 2 good ones and 2 suitable for hose reels!! the wheels i got off josh are now gone as i used them to get my good superlites back

desperate plea for pair of 15 x 7 closest to zero offset rims!!

I HATE STOCKO'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

StArLeTdRiVeRLuCa
24th February 2006, 06:29 PM
very nice those car's are to get here easier then an ae 86 now i see what you can do with it maybe its interesting to buy to in the future next to my starlet.(i want to keep them both)

Gilly
3rd March 2006, 03:38 PM
well i picked up 2 ssr's the other day, black ones to which worked out well as i was going to paint them black any way!!! they look better in the photo' than the actually are, the chrome on the lip is starting to come off in some places, but thet were cheap enough and the exact size i was after!! just have to get 2 more now, so if any one wants to part with a pair let me know.

.wolfwood
3rd March 2006, 03:43 PM
u turd i wanted those rims.

i would like to get something that is about 8iches wide but i don like my chances

Gilly
3rd March 2006, 04:12 PM
i can't really go much wider or neg offset due to me still using standard guards. these fit perfect fill the guards well and hopefully won't scrub!!

however fronts i can go 0 offset as it isn't as low and i'm hoping to get another pair of guards and flare them a bit, or might even do my exsisting ones.

.wolfwood
3rd March 2006, 04:19 PM
hmm y not try yahoo japan or cbf messing around with that type of shit.

i would try yahojapan but cbf, im to lazy adn i dont want to spend the same amount the rims cost for shipping.

i saw some awsome ims for $400 about 9ich wide but the shipping was $500 lmao

mikes86
3rd March 2006, 04:22 PM
Do it! Flares = winz!1

.wolfwood
3rd March 2006, 04:26 PM
yeah flares are good if you have the wheel to fill them, if not they look the shitzor

born_rolla
3rd March 2006, 06:02 PM
f*** i love the colour of ya car and the interia colour........the pimpness is strong in this one!!!111111111111

Gilly
3rd March 2006, 06:29 PM
yeah i love the beige, i don't know why it isn't exactly a cool colour. looks good with black rims though! i have switched back to a full interior, it only looks good stripped out if it has a roll cage and harnesses and stuff. it's not a race car so i won't make it look like one.

i wanted to get some neg offset rims with bolt on flares and shit but it's just to expensive, i don't want this car to blow out cost wise as i'll never get it back.

now i just want to hand flare the fronts depending on what rims i get and get a lip for the front (these things always look high in the front)

should look fat with black SSR's and it's plenty low enough, don't know if i should go the blac kbonnet and bootlid. what do you guy's reckon?

ae71neo
3rd March 2006, 07:08 PM
Im going black boot and bonnet, but thats only because i have a spare of each here to f*** around with http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

20vtouge86
4th March 2006, 04:51 AM
No offence but i think painting a bonnet black is abit rice and ruins the look of a car... i laugh to myself (sometimes outloud!) when i see a car with a sprayed-black-wish-i-had-a-carbon-fibre bonnet http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Your car looks tuff as-is!!!!

Jason
4th March 2006, 08:46 AM
for my understanding, bonnets were 1st painted black to reduce glare off them...

20vtouge86
4th March 2006, 09:58 AM
^^^Yeah like on trucks and ambulances etc... but do you really think young guys are doing it for that reason?

Dxaqta
4th March 2006, 10:51 AM
mount the rims and go black bonnet

Gilly
4th March 2006, 04:56 PM
found a jap one that looks just like mine, or mine looks like theres...... whatever, spun me out majorly

Gilly
4th March 2006, 08:43 PM
just bought these from raceflo, don't know if they'll fit though! but they were cheap enough and if they don't fit i'll just sell em off again!! they weren't really what i was after but they look fat as. hmmm i sure i can find someone that would swap these for SSR's!

Was sittin here lookin at the pics of your car goin, "Hang on, what is different???!".

You managed to shorten your bumpers!! Got a guide man? That must have meant modifying the actual steel bumper structures underneath??

Your KE70 is fkn nice man, looked the goods with the 13s, but can't wait to see how it looks riding on 15s.

Cheers,
Kev.

Gilly

i've been waiting ages to see if anyone would ask that question regarding bumpers!!

it's actually pretty dodge but i just didn't like the massive bumpers that they come with.

i just seperated the plastic skin from the steel bumper supports, trimmed the bumpers down with a jigsaw, then ziptied them to the car!! like i said pretty dodge but ithink it looks heaps better.

and for all you weight reduction junkies i reckon each bumper suuport weighed in at about 10kgs!!

whats the piston doin up there??

how much did it cost u for ur airbox all up?

also, thats a bloody big hole in ur firewall http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ohmy.gif

Gilly
14th March 2006, 07:29 AM
piston is a whipper snipper piston, it's my rear view mirror ornament!!

airbox was $280, i supplied a cardboard replica and he used that to make the alloy one. i know Ant makes them get in touch with slydar, probably cheaper to do it through them than get one made up.

yes that is a big hole!
