Picked this up yesterday, its pretty clean aswell. It has a 4k, 5speed, clean interior and exterior. Ive searched the body and have not found much rust, just some spots on the roof and boot, and a little bit on a door. A big thanks to Cass (D1_Spec) for going and having a look at it for me, i proberly wouldnt have it if it wasnt for him http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif The engine runs pretty rough when i first turn it on but it sorts itself out once you start driving, hopefully it will be replaced soon anyway.

Time for a update me thinks, Got a hole load of suspension waiting to go in, all im waiting on is my struts. Consisits of, XT130 lca's, 8kg fronts, 6kg rears, tercel 17mm rear sway bar, excel g shocks front and rear, new bushes, nrca's. Bought a set of 5 ma61 wheels for $300, only running them up the front at the moment because they came with 235's, and i got some grid II's for free, thanks Nathan http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tup.gif

Also bought a te71 front bumper which is coming in a few weeks, in the mean time i was bored and thought i would try and make a front lip, turned out pretty good i think, has a nice angle and shape, although the cable ties kinda make it look shit, anyway heres some pics.

looking hot as breno, you need to be carefull bout those seats tho, not sure what the fine is for not being mod plated for two seats
but the fine for not mod plated for different engine is $225

probly wouldnt be as much as that, but any fine that can be avoided is good

AmyC
13th December 2006, 06:59 PM
I was quoted $50 to get it mod plated to a 2 seater but different engineers may change different prices.

Put my front suspenion in today, no problems which was great!
I suspect i have around 3-4 degrees of camber, and a shit load of extra track but ill get the proper specs tomarrow when i get a wheel alignment.
Im also using ke70 strut tops on ae86 struts which gives you a shit load of positive caster, which is why im running my stocko's on the front, im gonna have the chop a shit load out of the front of the guards tomarrow.
It looks very sweet with the ma61 wheels up the front but wasnt drive able so ill just have to wait until tomarrow, anyway here are some photos for now!

Went for my first slide with my new sus in tonight, and i found out 3 things.
1. I need a smaller steering wheel, stock one is too big
2. Grid II's are still too gripy even with 45psi in them
3. I almost crashed because of the open wheeler, it shot me straight ahead lol

But other than that, its still very controlable sliding and now i cant wait to get a 16v in there!

5th January 2007, 01:56 AM
Well, all things have to come to a end dont they....
This is why you shouldnt drift with a open centre, i had done many passes before and this was to be my last one, got half way through and the open centre shot me straight ahead nothing i could do, down a big drop off into a imbankment.
The car is a write off, the right hand side wheel is pushed back heaps, it got pushed back on the the accelerator, and either broke my ankle or severly sprained it, have to go for x-rays tomarrow.

The only thing im annoyed about is my bumper! i sorta checked my suspension, the struts seem ok, springs are ok, dunno about the control arms, and my shocks are bent, and in the back i think the shocks snapped.

Wow, that's horrible. This car was like an inspiration to me.

Glad to see you're ok though and that most of the goodies seem salvagable.

I still don't have any clue how you can drift it in the dry though.

tough luck cheif, Locking my diff was the best thing i ever did to my car. All you can do mate is learn from the experience and move on. It kinda sucks cause if you had hit the back end you could go buy an ae71 and put all your good gear from the front onto it.

Make sure the next one that you build you lock her up. Takes an hour to do and is the difference between your car been not fun and dangerous and being the most fun you can have on 4 wheels and reasonably safe.

I will light a candle for her tonight.

5th January 2007, 07:55 PM
Thanks guys, its at the wreckers at the moment, going to go down tomarrow morning to get my suspension out. I positive my shocks are fucked, not too sure about my struts, springs are good, nrca's should be good, and proberly just the tie rod ends, either way im not going to use this in my new car anyway so if they are all sweet they will be for sale!

I dunno what to get next, but it proberly wont be a street car, i think ill get anouther ke or ae71 and build it up as a track car.

Nah im keeping them, all my shocks were rooted, springs are good, left hand control arm is a ok i think, aswell as the tie rod end, all i could get from the right hand ride was the spring and strut, and im not 100% about the strut.
