thought i would just open a new thread on biggest dish or biggest stretched tyres

the rules are as follows http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif
1. the rims have to be on a real car (no 1/24, 1/10 etc models!)
2. cannot be photoshop'd either only the real deal
3. the only exception to the rule of the rims/tyres not being on
---the car is something to scale the rims/ tures with (eg mobile phone, cigarette packet
---or even a ruler..?)

Also pleas add name of car if u know (this was added later on)

happy postings http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

hell yeah! ive only found two so far... but if you got anymore post them up

http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/gallery.html - this ones a whole heap of pics of car meets. theres some real rad stuff, its got everything but the crazy old skool cars are the best.

i cant find the other site atm, but ill post it up when i find it.

i love the side skirts and bonnet mods. and most of them seam to have roll cages, but i doubt they ever hit the track.

ive read that they get a car and because there rego goes for two years, they do that sort of thing to a VIP style car it then jsut ship it off to auction at the end.

that would be alsome it you could pick something like them up in aus complied.
or knew someone that would be able to make the body work for ya.

-i aint no post whore... just taking advantage of a rad topic!-

hahahaha

i wana see more links, like the http://www.group5-web.com/ site... etc...

ive been looking at that site at te te71 wagons with the front lip, flares and old skool rims and i reckon if you did the same to an older sigma wagon would work really well.

I don't know! I can't remember where I got the pic from but i definitely didn't photoshop it!! I reckon it's real I mean look how well the guards and kit fit in with the wheels! And that camber on the rear wheels. Most of the photoshops i've seen the guys try to put in the back wheels dead straight and it looks wierd!!
Anyway if you want to see a real photochopper check this out!!

Whats the reality of handling and the chance of the tyre wandering if it its stretched over a superwide rim?

Gilly
15th March 2006, 06:15 PM
tyre is strectched so the sidewalls have minimal flex thus removing possible movement from tyre also makes it stiffer. and you can have your wheels outside the guards but the tyre tread inside. i like it because it looks cool!!!

11" rears and 10" wide fronts, all wearing 295/35/18's (ahh the joys of ATTESA AWD requiring same rolling diameter and contact patch).

One of the company demo cars, the Kakimoto built widebody R33 has 17" x 13" rear wheels (Kakimoto ones)

The tyres on it are 335/something/17 Pirelli P-Zero's which cost around $800 each http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

but what wanker puts 19" chromes on a VIP style car? gota have something wrong with him, shure maybe different wheels with dish but flat out chromes. NO WAY!!!

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/dry.gif

if i had widebody on the cedric id take those wheels off his hands, i need dish, my cedric came with 17" chrome there kinda gay.

Check out Seventh Meister (http://cwaweb.bai.ne.jp/~kgc10/)

Theres also like progress/history pages on there, and a link in there something with a huge variety of pics of different rims and how they look on and R31, everything from SSR mesh to TE37s..

xsoarerx
23rd March 2006, 04:17 PM
that site rules! before i got an 86 i looked into a r31 (which now looks like a cheeper option seing you can use s13 parts... etc..) but the flairs and aero parts are suprisingly expensive! like a front lip for a r31 going for 500 bucks!

but yeah! there hot cars!

dori_86
24th March 2006, 12:19 AM
r u talking bout the electronic lip? or just the fiberglass one?

xsoarerx
24th March 2006, 04:05 PM
humm... not sure.... looked like a fiber glass one, but i could be wrong.
i saw 500 and said "f%$$ that" but seing how popular getting body kits for the R31 is (which isnt really from what ive seen around) i would belive 500 for a genuine R31 would be the going rate.

bcos i know they released a bodyit that was connected to ur spedo so once you were over a certain speed it would fold out or fold out more

Yeah, the autospoiler.... I think its 70kmh it comes down, but you can set it to be down, or on auto, or up....
I have one, but the lip isn't in the car. Motors and switches are, hopefully I'll get a replacement lip soon.

$500 would be a GTS-R style fixed lip from R31house or Eastbear , or an R31house original lip....
EVERYTHING on them is expensive, and they're weird, f#ck all fits them from other Nissans of the same era , but I love my 31 coupe.

theyre also alot easier to stretch tires on though which is a big bonus.

What do they look like from other angles?

Surely running a 165 sort of defeats the purpose of stretching the tyres though, I mean at some point you need to balance grip and stiffness?

lol the 165's on the 7" rims were done down at apachy tyers thats was my idea lol , when the dude did it he thought it was the maddest thing eva they took heaps of photos and stuff they look sick. the profile is 65.. the dude also said they make 155 60 14's to so when i can afford it you will see a set of those on a set of ma61 rims

probably 65... most common size for 165 14's

I use 165's on the back of my car and usually 185 or 195's on the front, a lot of it is about tyre balance... also on low power cars you dont have to worry to much about the rear end grip http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif Just my experience.

the less grip you have in the rear just means you get more wheelspin, the more your wheels spin, the more heat they generate and the more tractiontion they make, so in the end they work out pretty even.

yesterday at work (tyre shop) we were mucking around with tyre stretching, managed to get a 185 55 onto an 8. Not outrageous or anything but i didnt have any wider rims lying around. Will probably try a 50 today.
