T-O-U-G-H!!!
Nice 86! did you build it up yourself?

Mad RS
3rd April 2006, 11:13 PM
Nah I bought it like that but I am slowly fixing all the rough edges. For what I paid for the car I couldn't even get close to this amount of modification if I paid for and built it myself.

Mad RS
13th April 2006, 09:29 PM
Well the rims are sold.

Looks like I will be getting a set of 15x7 0 offset Konig Rewinds. What do you guys think?? Are there better rims out there for $1000 or less??? Also what is a good size for 7inch rims?? I was thinking 205/50's. Ideas???

omy
13th April 2006, 09:52 PM
GIII in 195/50/15 http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

ae86levint
13th April 2006, 09:56 PM
195 /50s are the go, u will need to space em out to fill your flares, alternatively your could buy some 15 x 8 -4 superlites.

.wolfwood
13th April 2006, 09:58 PM
as if sell those rims, they suit the car so well

Mad RS
13th April 2006, 10:06 PM
Omy- GIII's are exactly what i am going for. Either those or the new Kumo KU31 (apparently they are in direct competition with the GIII's).

.wolfwood- As they say "If you love them you must let them go". Nah, it just that 15's for me are a better option in tyres. Not that the 16's are crap, I just can't afford to replace the tyres when I wear them out. Atleist they are going to a good home.

Yeah, I have been a big fan of the Potenza range for years. Ever since I bought my RS2000 Escort and fitted a new set of Potenza's I have loved the performance. There is also a tyre by Firestone that has caught my attention. I think they are called Uni-T's.

Does the 195/50 R15's have too much stretch on a 7inch rim??

dori_86
14th April 2006, 12:15 AM
14" x 7 have 175/60's stretched, but unsure about using a lower profile tho

Good to see your car on here mate..!! Its a beautiful looking car... keep up the good work! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

omy
14th April 2006, 12:09 PM
195/50/15 are just right for 7' wide wheels, with 205/50/15 will give the tyres a bubbly look.

You sold the Watanabe's?..........arg.......I would've given my right testicle for those. Hope you emptied their bank account....

Don't you think you'll need something a little wider than 15x7s to fill out the flares? Or are you de-flaring the beast....

If your serious about getting CYB copy flares than you'll need to get wider rims than 7inchs. Try 9inchs and this still won't probably be wide enough.

Mad RS
15th April 2006, 10:00 AM
They are called bolt on spacers. The car only needs something around 7-8inches wide and with the increased track created by the bolt on spacers it will have plenty of grip.

I will either use a set of CBY overfenders or just get a new set of the current flares for both front and back. All depends on what look I am going for.

15th April 2006, 12:53 PM
I reckon the 15x8 -4 superlite option.

edit* with 195/50s

Mad RS
15th April 2006, 01:06 PM
Problem with the superlites is that they are a 4 week wait. I don't have extra rims. Anyone have a set I can borrow??

Mad RS
16th April 2006, 08:09 PM
Hey mate,
If your serious about the 14x6's that would be great.. Can you PM me your phone number and I will give you a call.

Mad RS
27th June 2006, 07:09 PM
She's alive!!!!!! After a 3 week battle to find a wiring fault she is finally on the road again. Got to give Anthony Klellam 2 thumbs up, the guy does great work. A little sow, (you know I luv ya Ant) but really good work.

Tomorrow the 15x8's get 205/50 Nankang's wrapped around them. Couple of days after that the new flares will be fitted and then finally the interior gets stripped and 2 new race seat get fitted.

Well it was a long time coming but the pig finally got a full tune. Keeping in mind that its just a standard engine with exhaust and modded ignition she produced a very linier 95Kw. Going up and down Green mountain on the way to O'Reilly's is a real blast. From point to point she scrambles for traction now.

Oh I should mention that me and my hatchi live at O'Reilly's so to get to and from work I have to do the mountain run. Canungra to O'Reilly's in 27 minutes (all welcome to try and better it http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif )

Andrew
4th November 2006, 12:44 PM
Haha, I had to go to O'reillys for a school excursion. Turkeys everywhere.

Shame I didn't see your car up there! Could have made the excursion worthwhile.
